Adventure Twenty-one - The Sky Gods - Now Open

EricStratton Wrote:Does the cost to use the Gods continue even after being able to legitimately build Stealth Bombers? In other words once you've researched Composites, Flight and Robotics and have access to Oil and Aluminum?

The final decision is with Sulla, but I would suggest that if you have cheap copies of the three mighty sky gods you are free to use them. If you want to use any of the three sky gods you have to do a sacrifice.

That is the exact scenario I was trying to ask about.

Are there any ways in which stationing a SB in a friendly civ's city could be beneficial?

Well, it greatly increases your radius of operation. You can hit targets far away from your own civ. A bit like US bombers based in the UK hitting on Iraq.

No, I mean, any benefit to just having them based there. The rules restrict usage outside cultural borders without the GP sacrifice, so we know exactly what we have to do to run operations. The question was whether or not basing them outside your own borders was aok, and I couldn't think of a game-affecting benefit to doing so, so I didn't think it was an issue.

Wow, I really didn't think this was that complicated, but since there are still more questions... rolleye

T-Hawk: You cannot re-base bombers to carriers. Fortunately, this is something that I already considered and doesn't pose a conflict.

LK: You can rebase the bombers to any of your cities. They never leave your borders in the process of doing so; the units simply disappear in one city and reappear in the other. It doesn't matter if the two are connected culturally or not. Air units never actually "move" on the map, after all (I don't care what the graphics display, they are actually stationary units!)

EricStratton: If you tech all the way up to Stealth and can build stealth bombers the normal way, feel free to drop all restrictions. I expect most games will probably end one way or another before that happens. (This should be a non-issue for the game, I hope.)

As far as the other issue is concerned, no, you cannot rebase your bombers to another civ's cities. They must stay based in one of your own cities at all times. Why would you even want to do that in the first place? They can't carry out any missions there! Do you really think the Aztec gods would sully themselves by appearing in the skies over some poor heathen village? C'mon, use a little common sense here. smile

Fun idea, having great prophets being able to call down doom on enemy civs would make an interesting mod actually. I don't think I can suspend my disbelief with those stealth bombers, though, so I'll wait for the next scored event!

Stealth bombers, eh. Not yet built one in CIV, so might be a fun learning experience.

Well I will be playing this one. It seems to easy. Time to find out the nasty gotch in the game...

I'm exiting the lurker dungeon to play this one. Sky Gods are an interesting variant and make creative reporting options. smile I wonder if the Sky Gods is a lure to get more Noble/Prince players to play a higher difficulty level. Why do I feel like a trout? twirl
