Credit cards don't put people into a deep credit hole, people with poor spending discipline and or bad luck put people into a deep credit hole :rolleyes:
Seriously, if YOU stay in control, a 5,000 dollar limit gives you some flex, while at the same time allowing the bank to give you a reality check if you get silly with your card.
If you have been a tightwad all your life, merely getting a credit card won't change that. It is only if YOU change that the spending patterns will change. And then you get to use a plactic card as a shovel! hehehe
