There's something really odd going on with the time that I haven't been able to track down. There's something going wrong in the communication between the forum and the server, I think. So far, vBulletin has been much more user-friendly and customizable than IPB ever was, but even IPB 1.1 had a "server offset" time feature that allowed you to manually adjust the forum time. I haven't found that here yet.

QotM is even more important than the Daily Word, although it may not be as daily.
