Is this naked character allowed to equip potions?

By that I mean:

Potions for healing or mana

Potions to carry in hands, like poison or fire potions?

Can this Naked IM equip any weapons?

Back in D1 days the definition of playing naked was: no armor incl. helm+shield, no weapons, no jewelry, any elixirs, potions, books and scrolls. So fighting critters was done by either boxing or spell casting. Allowed slots to use were the belt and the inventory.

After Blizz fixed an AR-bug which allowed naked players to hit hell critters even with base dex and bare hands it was allowed to put on a single AR-increasing melee weapon. No bows!

Since you place them in the 1-row-base-belt or the inventory a definate "yes" wink

Those potions are like throwing weapons with effects similar to low level Assassin's FireBlast or Necro's PoisonExplosion. Since they are used up quick i would give them a go.

An AR-increasing melee weapon like a silver dagger or a club socketed with an Eth rune should go so that you are able to score some hits later on. That is if you still like to go into melee then wink

Due to the auto-equip feature in D2/LoD you should either put some broken gear into the charakters slots to prevent auto-equip OR you always enter the command /nopickup at the start of each game. Since people like me tend to forget such details after a while doing something different i'd prefer the wear-broken-gear thing. An alternate for broken gear would be extra high requirement gear that you put on that IM char by temporary loading up the inventory with +str/+dex charms. After removing the charms this gear would become unusable so it won't work anymore while still blocking the slots it's placed on. A problem could be the blockage of the jewelry slots. Maybe some low-end-things that only add to stamina or lightradius or charges which you are of course not allowed to use.

I planned to play her completely naked, no armor, weapon, jewelry nor charms. I think throwing pots would be ok, it's like picking up rocks to throw.

I played FER to lvl 6 and got stuck when she met up with a bunch of champion kitties. Got chased back to Cold Plain WP, towned, and called it it quits - have no pots left frown There was a refreshing well but...

Want to make sure I have the iron Man rules understood.

IM_IronMan is a ncero. Once you leave town, you can't come back. You have to complete any area you start. (D2 WP's and the break between areas allows one to do sessions very nicely.) Can you TP to town and dump stuff as in D1 Iron Man, or is that not permitted? Given that most stuff gets eaten by bnet over time, that's not such a great idea anyway. IM_IronMan was able to complete Dark Woods and Cain quest, he has stopped there.

Question: Was it a foul to complete the quest by talking to Akara and Cain? I also completed the Blood Raven quest, which means I now have a rogue.

Or, are we not supposed to complete quests?

IM_PoVine is just made this AM, a Druid. He has done nothing.

Will discuss more later.

Nice name, cued up the song right away smile

You can dump stuff in town/stash. The idea is no interaction with NPCs unless they have a ! over their heads, and only about quest related issue even then (which closes the loophole from hiring ressing merc). Careful not to turn in the Malus or talk to Cain at the wrong time - wait till you are ready to leave act 1 and have a full inventory of stuff you want ID'd and an imbue worthy item.

All quests must be completed!

The RULES at the time (since we considered D2 maps to be huge) does not require full clear of non-quest areas. Note that
- Ironmen fight what they face, and must clear a clean "path" from town to the Act boss, killing all bosses seen on the way or known to be in an area along the path. All waypoints must be found and paths cleared. If you see a monster on your screen, it must die.

For example
Den of Evil must be cleared while Cold Plain does not (except finding Bishibosh).
I would consider the Burial Grounds (not the 2 sub dungeons) to be a quest area. So Stoney Field need not be cleared other than having a clean path to
Rakanishu [size=1]and then to the next WP.
I would consider the 5 levels in The Forgotten Tower to be one quest area, every level must be cleared.
The distinction is, while quest area such as Burial Grounds must be cleared, you only need to go down to the Crypt and clear till you kill BoneBreaker, whileThe Mausoleum is optional.
