Fort Aspenwood and The Jade Quarry

These days I pretty much only use a Mel's ranger and stake out the middle ground mine. Killing opposing carriers is one of the most effective things you can do: if they don't have any carriers they can't score any points. And since the carriers are pretty much always moving, Mel's is a great choice. Sloth Hunter's is good for that reason as well, but I've found Keen's lower energy cost and recharge work out better, especially when there have been times where I haven't died for a while (had one match where I didn't die at all, and I don't even bring a self heal).

A tip: Volley is great for enabling a Melandru's Turret build to cap shrines, no need to go incendiary. The recharge works in perfect rhythm w/flail. This gives me something to do when there are half-decent monks around shepherding the carriers. (I tried some crazy daze builds, but nothing works all that well from up on the ledge where you need to hide while the enemy holds the guardposts.) Also if you are going the healing-less route, Lightning Reflexes is great for keeping you alive long enough to kill NPCs. Finally, poison tip is actually better at pressure damage than keen arrow (assuming the poison stays on) and can cover cripple, but d-shot is important if you are going to hunt N/As. So my build looks like this:

13 exp
14/15 marks
(4 wilderness)

Melandru's Shot
Poison Tip Signet/Distracting Shot
Savage Shot
Volley
Read The Wind
Flail
Sprint
Lightning Reflexes

Far too many wins with this build tongue

I knew a guy at one time who once said something like, "I visited my Brother in the weekend. His two nephews are a very effective contraceptive."

Jade Quarry has become like this me now. Even though I'm on a winning team 80% of the time, one match is enough to make me hate Guild Wars enough to just log out and do something else entirely. Yesterday the lure of Faction drew me back there and after one match I promptly started cleaning a window before dismantling some plumbing to scoop out large globs of foul smelling black crap and even fouler white crap. It's an amazing discovery really. Whenever I have some vague notion that there is something that needs to be done around the place I just head to Jade Quarry and like magic the compulsion to do anything outside of Guild Wars becomes overpowering. [Image: thumbsup.gif]
