It really is amazing that everyone else seems to have had at least one AI build a capable ship, where none of mine ever did really.

Woe be to our team mates if we ever play a succession game together, because I'm the complete opposite on most maps.
On the other hand, your "slow" rate of conquest pretty much matches my usual. I tend not to get into a hurry in most of my games.
