RefSteel.

Great report, I especially liked how you worked in the RBO name into your main character's name. Funny Stuff!!

I also like how you tricked the Bulrathi into sacking a planet that already had troops on the way.

Well played and well reported.

Many thanks for all the positive feedback; I'm really glad you enjoyed the report! (It's why I write 'em after all!)

(Well, that and the fact that there every bit as much fun to write as they are to read!)

Great report! I wish I had the time to write a report like that. Mine is just a poor hack job by comparison. Maybe not having to hurry up and write it at/after the deadline will help me the next time. I'm just happy to have finally finished it last night... I had no idea where my story was going as I was writing it, so I'm just glad I came up with an ending out of thin air [Image: lol.gif]

Just a few things I noticed as I was reading.

You pulled a real dud off the Artifacts planet. Other than Gatling Laser or Robotics III, you couldn't have been more unlucky.

The Klackons refusing trade was another bad result, as they klackons are usually quite happy to trade.

Yours is the first repport I've had time to read, but I'm guessing a LOT of people are going to have that situation where the Klackons are incoming to the artifacts planet as it gets settled. I was REALLY worried about it in my game. Fortunately, Improved 8 got the factories finished fast enough I settled it two turns before the Klackons learned a range tech.

Quote:This meant that almost a third of the shipbuilding BC already built up at Sssla would be preserved for more colony ship production. If I could have designed a ship that cost barely more than half the investment I'd already made, that would have been even better, but no such possibilty existed.

Very clever. I admit that I would have almost certianlly built fighters, but I'm a fighter guy. I also would have been locked into the thought of "fighters = more guns = more dead incoming transports" not thinking about how fast the Sakkra breed. I was probably an Alkari in a previous life.

Interesting that in your game, the Klackons and Humans were much faster to expand than they were in mine, while in mine the Bulrathi nearly grabed that planet away from me almost 2 decades before your " what are they smoking" picture.

You're still have many planets to settle in your game at the turn of the century, while every place with a planet not named Orion is settled in mine by 2397. Of course, you had much earlier wars going on and I had Improved 8, that not only let me get the first 2 planets maxed faster, but design LR colony ships one level below my planetology tech too. That let me extend my range to the southeast rapidly.

You got the industrial accident at Mu Delphi frown At least the game was pretty much over by then.

The AI sure designed useful ships in your game. I guess the Psilons must have traded Spore tech around or something. I think I only saw two cases the entire game where the AI ships posed an actual threat. The Psilon spore ships which never reached the planet.

Already looking forward to your next report.
