Does anyone still play?

If it's single player, run Diablo II with the -act5 command line parameter. That begins a new character in act 5 at level 33, with all the levels worth of stats and skills available to spend. You still need to return to act 1 and play all the way through (the waypoint to act 5 doesn't work) if you want all the quest rewards. But at least you can do it with a full set of skills available instead of Normal Whacking through the desert and jungle for the two millionth time. smile

Yea, I was just rambling. Have you taken a close look at the changes with the up coming patch and see if the Spartans more work?

If you are looking for cheesy quick leveling on Bnet, you can get a new toon to 40+ in an hour or two:
- Join a 8 players game with a Chant bot, and get enchanted.
- Grab a bow or throwing weapons. You can melee, but why bother chasing down monsters.
- Start your game at Darkwood. Every monster or 2 will give you a level for the first few minutes, and you will likely hit lvl 12 by the time you are at the Monastery Gate. Skip the rest and go straight to kill Andariel, head to Act 2.
- Play at the highest mlvl area you can get to in Act2, including killing Duriel.
- A run or two of the Arcane Sanctuary and the Tombs should take you to lvl 18-20
- Equip a Raven Claw at lvl 15, if you have it. You can kill a roomful of monsters with a couple of arrows. Other exploding piercing (x)bow (such as Kuko and Demon Machine) work too, but they have higher level and stat requirements.
- Skip Act 3. Just kill Mephy and head to Act 4.
- Level to lvl24-5 and head to Act 5. You can get to Act 5 earlier but there is an exp penalty for toons under lvl25.
- You can get 20 levels in Act 5 in about half an hour doing Bloody, CP, and Baal runs.
- Then go back to grab quests, or not.

Since 1.13 went into it's first re-work shift nobody knows what will be in the final patch yet. It's kinda hard to predict things when you're not an Oracle. Up to now i have not seen any massive changes making the Spartans impossible.

Currently it seems as if the Barbarian Spartan Dance of Death Tag team will become easier due to Whirlwind's mana usage being cut into half.

I was on tonight. Somebody made RBD1 and I could not join. It was apparently Hell Diff.

I noticed it was a non HC game. No probs.

I had always thought we ought to name our HC games with an h anyway:

rbd1 for softcore
rbd1h for hardcore

But I am not in charge.

To whomever was on tonight, I hope all is well with your game.

That could have been me but i'm really not sure because i did not pay attention to game names. For a thread on PTR forum i checked some skill distributions about Revives and during that also ol' Kurare - my NL SC Poisonmancer - idled some time in game. Maybe that was his game.

Aside that the only SC chars i currently play are on my sole Europe account, doing some Ironman tests there.
