I don't think you really need to keep to forest/jungle (not that that looks to be a problem ) as barbs are off. Other than that, sounds perfect.
That being said, if the pace the game has been going at continues, you'll see something like two turns anyhow.

Your starting position (some of tiles not normally visible are revealed on purpose).

I like the leader choice.
Now if only I could have had India instead of Merry Olde England.

So here's the land after ending the turn on t1 (so after ending turn twice):
Not shown is two more gems to the south. I am really liking my traits for expansion considering I've seen three gems and a golds. That being said, considering I can see the sea, I am worried I might be on an island, in which case not being financial to optimize the land to the best of my ability could be an issue.
Also, assuming everyone has the exact same land, I am going to have my corn hooked up 2t before anyone else. I pick up a turn on everyone because of the fast worker. I also pick up a turn by being both exp and cre. My borders pop a turn before any other exp, meaning I can get the exp bonus going a turn faster, which turns out to be important, as the hammers go:
6
12
19 (borders pop pushing hpt to 7)
26
33
40 (complete).
That being said, I can't remember what I chose as my tech when I sent the save on. If it was BW, agri might be a turn late
Here are the demogs on t1:
Based of that, I assume that everyone settled on a stone plains hill. I am going to assume that everyone has the exact same starting position based off those demogs. I like then that I will have

Time for an update. I got the turn and saw this:
I met Serdoa. I moved my warrior SW to discourage him from moving to that tile. The next choice was what to do with the worker. If he moves directly for it, he would get there a turn before my warrior would to protect it (and I would be willing to take 75% odds from the river and let him attack the warrior protecting the warrior). That being said, if he moves to come after my borders next turn, I will move my warrior 1W to intercept him on the flatland. I expect him though to move SW, and then either SW again or perhaps S. I will probably continue to move my warrior west to beat him to the forest hill in my borders, as that is the tile that the defensible terrain naturally goes towards (and thus the route I would expect Serdoa to move.
Anyway, I have a question for the lurkers. Can anyone explain how his pop score is lower than mine? How does his one pop give less than my one pop?
Also, how is his land score lower? According to the demographics screen, everyone has 21 land tiles:
Anyone know what's up with that?

Try opening previous saves, see if there's a time component.

A long time ago (could be still true), coastal tiles were counted in the domination limit but not land stat (but since the number here is 21 that is irrelevant here).
Maybe mountains were the opposite (included in land but not domination ?)

They're not actually lower. The victory conditions screen rounds off to an interval of 1.00 percent for opposing civs.

Thanks T-Hawk, that explains it. Odd I had never realized that before, although I guess it's not all that common to have contact on t7 either to realize you both have 1 pop and the same land amount.

An interesting turn. First things first, Serdoa stayed put:
I decided to as well, for this turn. If he remains in place next turn, I will move my warrior SW, as by that point my worker will be done with the farm before Serdoa could reach my borders.
However, the more interesting discovery was this, zooming out with the culture indicator on:
GOD DAMN we're close! I think a choke is in order here. Hopefully there is copper in the BFC, but if not I'm going archery next.
