Are you sure that we should try to start in "pre-school"? The limit on party size to 2 makes things rather silly, don't you think? That's why I suggested having everyone (all 4 people! what a HUGE team!) get to Post-Searing, and then we could start from there with what felt like an actual team game.
If I need to start a new character, then I think that my preference would be for an E/N (or the reverse; I can't decide which would be better - energy storage or soul reaping), or maybe a Ranger secondary (for Trapping). Is it time to start a team-organizing thread?

Part of the appeal of NMs and BNMs was blatently showing that skill and knowledge is better in a pinch than uber items, so why the no-PuG rule?

If you want to use the big Elementalist spells you'll need either a +energy item, Glyph of (Lesser) Energy or Energy Storage. Soul Reaping, on the other hand, can prove a better energy engine than a normal set of caster armor (+2 e.regen), if you can spare the points to get a decent level in it and you defeat stuff fast enough.

I think the no-PuG rule would only apply to members of the n00d team - only play with other teammates, or it's not really a team experience. For other, random n00ds, I don't see why you couldn't show up the pubbies.

No, there really isn't a problem playing, helping, or showing off to PuG. It is only a problem if you want to claim credit for accomplishments. I mean, people saying they are level 1 and made it to Droknar just doesn't impress me, like it does to pubbies. And more than that, you want to prove it to yourself and I doubt playing a naked character with PuG can give you ANY sense of what it takes to have done the same thing by Naked rules or a naked team.

So sure go ahead and take a nudist to PuG, but limit yourself to only go places you have already done.

What about starter shield for Warrior block abilities? Some of those defensive skills require a shield equipped.

The Halloween update has introduced a new piece of equipment - The Pumpkin Crown. It doesn't have any inheret abilities (though you can apparently apply runes to it) and it may not be beyond the realms of possibility that you can infuse it.

I would assume this sort of helm would be of great use to a nudist (Note: The head slot has a 12.5% chance of being struck in combat, with the numbers increasing if the enemy is positioned above you). Problem? You have to get to Lion's Arch in (optimistically) the next few days. Barge it.
