I have 2 Settlers in positions to found backfill cities marked on the screenshots in the previous post, but that's it for expansion. With my lead in production and backwardness in other categories, I think a HArcher attack on Gaspar/Noble or Mist/Ichabod is the best way to go from here

Did you consider settling SE of Diyarbakir? Less aggressive, gets the wet rice first ring, might have been less provocative. Also, was it deliberate to space your cities out quite a bit (from the looks) or more a consequence of the dotmap?

Yes, I considered it, but Diyarbakir is a better spot with banana in the BFC. Probably would've been the same outcome, too

Consequence of the dotmap, didn't see a way to pack cities more densely. I still can found a city 4E from the capital, but there's no food

3E of the capital will grab the same amount of land and you have 2x wet rice to borrow for growth. That would leave you with 10 cities, not including Diyar. You have a crazy amount of cottage land available, might be enough for a long-term comeback with generous amounts of luck and skill. You're in the hole right now due to a lack of capital, but your growth potential is still healthy IMO. Income is atrocious, but it should recover very fast with cottages all over the place and you have just barely enough to settle the last 3 sites. How many workers do you have?

Haha, and now Mistabod declared war on me too. A stack of some Horse Archers (8 or so, was too lazy to count). Will lose Konya, hopefully will keep everything else

Well, the game ended all too quickly for me. Mistabod took Konya (the city closest to them), and razed Istanbul. Losing two cities was painful; even more painful was the fact that I didn't have any land to expand from there

After I scouted the continent, it looked like there was a lot of ocean on the map. I decided to try to go all in on Astronomy, hoping for another continent somewhere. Unfortunately, if it is there, I didn't find it, and now it doesn't look like I will be able to move there

Gaspar/Noble attacked me with Cho-Ko-Nus, and Longbows didn't have a chance against their collateral damage. I did my best on defence, but it was not enough. I'm down to my last city at the moment, and they may take a few turns to heal their troops, but they most definitely will take the city. Unless that other continent is actually on the map, and I find it very soon, this is another game where my Ottomans didn't stand a chance
