Commodore's start is the strongest. It is only one providing chance for profitable plains hill start. However it moves him further away from the middle where he should be grabbing land. He has also the most central position in the game so I think this is alright.
at NobleGas whining. Their starts is not best long term capital, but it is very good for early game to spit out workers and couple of settlers. They're only one with 6 food tile and plenty of forests. They should be easily be 1st to get 2nd and 3rd cities up with good improvement level, even if they've good competiton in Imperialistic Victoria.
Mist Wrote:Also wow at those two incenses, if we ever needed an excuse to go for an early calendar and MoM I can't find any better.
Sorry Mist. This isn't FFH. Desert Incense is terrible tile to work.
Also Ichabod has a point concerning the luck when deciding the position of 1st city. It would be trivial to make 1st city non-moveable. However when a map is supposed to be pretty standard Pangaea, I don't think that should be nescessary.
Bonus points for Oledavy dor a very fast 2nd city, when his capital is weakish that is definately good idea. However positioning of it was terrible. There are way better spots south claiming potentially rice, corn and copper or silver.
It's turn 45 and what do we see?
* Commodore has attempted a terrible rush that had no chance of success.
* OleDavy has destroyed his economy in the name of progress. [We don't have any past ancient eras from him, but it seems reasonably in line with his previous games.]
* NoGas look to be barely missing out on a wonder, and might go crazy about a pink dot city.
* Yuri is just plugging along with the Oracle and will probably crumble later.
* Mistabod ... I dunno? I guess they are doing pretty well despite some slightly strange priorities.
