A couple of questions...

I actually have no idea if skills like Impale - Chemical Burn stack or not. From observing the damage numbers I think it doesn't, and have stopped using the skill, but it's hard to be sure.

If you open the Follower screen and hit the Details button at the bottom next to their stats, a panel appears (similar to the one available on your own inventory) which shows (at least when you hover over them) what benefit you're getting from their item stats. Might as well load them up with +exp, +GF, +MF etc (not sure if the health globe boosts carry over), especially if you're using the Templar for tanking purposes more than damage output.
