42nd Crazy Lurkated: To Lurk and Smirk

Maneleus I'm pretty sure was a misclick at some stage, I recall it being south of the Lanun. Still, meh - it's just a different epic dungeon, really.

IMO Commodore made a clearly suboptimal choice with his capital. Still, Commodore being Commodore, it's hard to work out if he knows it or not.

Agreed regarding Comm's capital.

What do you think about HK's too? Settling on the marble or for Remnants seems better than killing the sheep tile to me.

I think Ichabod's situation is calling for cottages over Aristo.

Certainly looks to be an interesting game, hopefully the others manage to keep up with Bob and Comm's starts.

Yes, I definitely would have settled on marble with HK's start: four FPs and two river grassland is just one FP behind where he actually settled (and -1 health, but well worth it for +1 hammer, IMO). And, as TBS pointed out, it preserves the sheep for (much) later.

I'm expecting this game to be an interesting one to lurk, although most of the players have a history of not reporting very well...

I'd have put it on marble as well, 3h city square wouldn't be too bad either to start with.

I'm also hoping for active reporting as this game has pretty amazing players in it.

I think he was right to forsake the Remnants, but agree about the marble.

I really hope Ichabod doesn't bend over backwards to run a farm economy, I can't see it working out for him. Delaying Calender to do it, too. And his second settlement is kinda based wholly around using farms - I worry that in planning that he's just falling back on past FFH knowledge/experience, without taking into account the new and unusual plays he is planning on making.

I also feel a bit bad for Ellimist. He has probably the worst geopolitical position, and his land is kinda crap as well - and his neighbors are starting with Ygg and MoH respectively. I regret a bit not improving his land, even though it was against my mandate.

Next turn Ichabod will have to make a decision between exploring the lair and taking the healing salve with him. I think I'd go lair - getting it out of the way is just so valuable and the small chance of dying to an animal will have massive repercussions of spawning more and more lizards over time.

Also like his non-conventional decisions regarding the Hyborem beeline. Not sure how well it will work - especially with Kragroth to the east - but it should be interesting regardless.

Kragroth *ought* to let him go for it. Hyborem is one of the best ways to up the AC in a hurry.

But I guess that requires that Kragroth recognizes what he's doing, rather than just seeing a neighbor inexplicably weak and tasty-looking.

Oh yeah, my assumption was that Kragroth wouldn't realise - what diplo is it this game?

And one city, pacifism at t80 is very, very weak.

Pretty sure they ended up with AI diplo, over Kragroth's objection. So yeah, that doesn't help Ichabod very much. Although building Ragarok and aggressively pumping Marked units may be a hint
