Civ5 Installation issue

Ok, guess I should start a thread? For those of you that do know even slightly more about the game than me, would either/any of you want to take care of getting the game itself set up? I've only just so far just gotten through the very beginning stages of playing a game on the basic default settings.
Also, am I missing something or once you install the Gods & Kings expansion can you not run a game of Civ V regular version? My icon on the desktop that starts Civ V now gives a startup screen of starting Gods & Kings and I have not yet found a way to start a game without using the expansion. I'm sure I'm just missing something simple.

I think an SG would be easier to setup, never tried setting up a PBEM but its probably not that hard.

I've got around 5-6 games of Civ5 experience, half with base Civ5 and the other half with the BNW expansion.

I think if we want to learn about the game more, an SG may be the way to go. That way we can riff on each other's actions and learn how some of these new concepts work as a group. It's also less of a time commitment for each of us while still being able to contribute.

So I started a thread for getting a SG going. So any of you who might be interested, toss a post there and let me know if you have any preferences to settings or any of that sort of stuff.
