If you need translation into Russian, I can do that (no idea if there's a Russian site worth posting on though)

As I posted in the other signup thread, is it possible to play this as Always War?

Sorry I forgot to respond, but yes, you can do so! Just because the game came with no Variant restrictions doesn't mean you can't impose any on yourself.

Great. I remember the special setting of Civ4 that gave reduced war weariness if you opted for AW

The first Always War was quite a vivid experience. I am shocked at how much I remember of that SG, all these years later.
Although the Civ3 AI was less prepared for the variant than the Civ4 AI, I do recall more overall fun from the Civ3 version.
I also remember making that little Potluck graphic. I used (and still use) very simple imaging software, text editors, and so forth. I still don't even own a smartphone, still have a flippy one. Honestly, though, I do not feel as old as I make myself sound. I really really do not! (Especially when I cradle my two-week old on my chest, as I did earlier tonight.) I also don't need a cane or a hearing aid. Not yet, at least!
This cameo feels like one of the old Pac Man cutscenes in between levels: pointless and silly, but hopefully brings a grin to some.

Well, I do remember those discussions during the AW games. Passionate and interesting.

scooter: the norm in the past has been no discussion until the end of the month and then full post-game report after
Wanted to chime in on this for everyone: because this is a non-scored adventure, AND this is our first community foray into a new game, it is permissible and encouraged if you wish to report as you go on your adventure, instead of waiting until you finish and posting it all.
For those who don't know, traditionally, we ask all players to hold their reports until a common reporting day, so they can be released at the same time and not influence other people's playthroughs, especially when scores and bragging rights are at stake. Since that isn't the case here, I'm lifting that common/regular restriction and say post whenever you please.
And rest assured, before too long we will have a scored epic with the standard ruleset, so it won't be going away.
