Second pick is Rome.

How does a Indonesian / German alliance sound? I am fine with playing either team and these two wont conflict.

Indonesia holy / theater / campus / harbor / some IZ's
Plan to expand towards and utilize most of our coast.
Focus on Religion / Navy

Germany IZ's / Encampments / Commerce
Tight packed cities filling most of the interior with enough room on the coast to build some coastal cities.
Focus on money and Military

If this sounds good to you i think we should grab Indonesia first

I think Indonesia will still be free, both civs start inland so I would go with Germany over Indonesia.

I still like Kongo/Russia, but Germany is too strong to base up and I think we will see uboats. Japan with isthmuses though, it is a toss up.

I would go with Germany if in doubt. +1district.

I lean towards Indonesia or cough, cough, England as a second choice.

Trade routes and money by England, as well as culture. Production and science by Germany.

England scout, Germany barbs and slinger.

Germany it is. England / Japan would be my suggestion then for second choice. Part of me wanted to try out the new team but I have played many more games with japan / germany and to some extent england.

If we can grab England when you up.
Germany wants to get Commerce Zones for Hanza placement. England can get most of her trade routes from harbors. Won't conflict with Great People.

Yeah, I am torn between Indonesia and England. Let´s see what is left after the enviable doublepick of the middle.

So there is the obvious like one socut, one slinger between us. I think Craftmanship should also be done by one quickly. Mayhaps one builder, one settler next?

England for the conquest of the seas?

Russia for religion?

Indonesia for squeezing profit out of the landmasses.

Or Egypt for trade routes. I am torn.

If we just had a lake. I think Indonesia might be the right call.

So I discussed it a lot with myself.

We either go with Indonesia for religion/navy.

Or bear with me, we just divide the continent and do Russia/Germany.

Russia which can focus on cultural districts and lavras could be nasty and shoot through the civic tree, whilst I go through the tech tree and build IZs and campuses.

I think it could be great, just great! If we beeline choral music.

Maybe we will curse ourselves, but I think a Russia liberated from the need to build campuses or encampments, which I would do, could be a monster.
