New difficulty level??

Just as a note, looking at my current Chaos Lunatic game, the particular restriction on needing an open tower before the AI attacks closed towers, will still catch some players unaware. If there is a particularly weak tower, and particularly strong AI, the AI will simply build up on the other side of the non weak towers. Then the human breaks the weak tower, and then the AI will rush through multiple other towers.

Not sure if that's what you want. It might be fine, but want to make sure it's actually what you want.

It probably does not. It might take up to 2-5 minutes though - low land size + lots of content to place is time consuming. However it is to ensure the map generated is as playable as possible - you wouldn't want a game where an enemy wizard starts 5 tiles from your capital which has a max pop of 3.
I haven't yet seen it actually freeze so far since that update and I don't think anything changed that is related to map generation in this beta. If it does freeze (10+ minutes of no success), simply try again, and if it keeps freezing again, report it again please. (also make sure your CPU cycle settings as high enough.)

It freezes and it reproduces. Just start a game on tiny map with only one opponent. Wait for 15 minutes. Max cycles.

Update: looks like the problem is picking only one opponent. Fails to generate even on fair size.

Fixed and reuploaded. There was a typo in one of the files that caused an infinite loop if there were less than 3 wizards on both planes.
