Do you make eggnog when you can't buy it in a grocery store?

I stick to the eggnog that is available in the grocery stores. I've never tried to make my own at home, namely because you have to cook the eggs long enough to kill the salmonella, but cook them too long and you have scrambled eggs in you drink... Plus, it makes eggnog more special when you can only have it for three or four months out of the year!
My store has a pumpkin variation that is tasty, but for me, you can't go wrong with plain, regular eggnog. No alcohol required!

I have discovered hunting and have moved onto researching mining. I had to juggle around four different research goals:
Fishing (to hook up my fish by Eggnog Paradise)
Pottery (cottages)
Mining -> Bronze Working (copper nearby?)
Animal Husbandry (horses nearby?)
Ultimately, I went with mining for bronze working. With aggressive Praetorians, war chariots, impis, Mongolia, and Quechas possibly bordering me, security won out. I'll see where the copper is and what I have scouted out by then, then I can move on to pottery and fishing, then AH.
The warrior is going to start heading north. I like the site for that southern city, but I hate the two possible choices for the dinky fishing village in between. I'll have to settle one of them, but they are weak choices for a second city on my way to founding the southern site. I'd hate to have a lot of overlap with Eggnog Paradise, but I don't want to miss out on the clams either. We'll see what the west brings out- maybe these sites fall in importance when a juicy position is out there in the western fog!

Turn 18 has come and gone with no new major updates. Mining came in a few turns ago and I moved onto bronze working. I'm thinking of putting out two more warriors to grow Eggnog Paradise to size 3, then train a settler. I'm hoping there'll be copper nearby for an obvious second city plant.

Regentia has made its first contact!
My old CFC buddy Donovan Zoi is the lucky winner. He's Mao (EXP/PRO) of the Incans, so let's hope he's not scouting for a Quecha rush victim. I had a scout healing in the southern jungle, but it got eaten by a panther. My warrior is heading that direction now. Donovan's on the cusp on finding my civilization- I must return the favor!

Bronze working is in. And I have copper nearby!
Next to that city site I'm such a fan of! I'm still going to go with the city 3SW of Eggnog Paradise first, though, then head to the copper fishing village. If Donovan was able to get a settler out and settle near me first, I'm pretty pinned in and forced to try to fight my way out. I also won't switch to slavery until next turn, when my settler is done.
Donovan is in the same copper boat:
Hopefully that means a potential earlier settler will go north instead of towards me. Donovan's warrior also did not head directly towards Eggnog Paradise after meeting my warrior. So, I went ahead and skirted around his capital to the north and appeared from his west first. Hopefully that confuses him for awhile!
Pottery is lined up next, followed by fishing, then animal husbandry.

Rooster Lake has been founded!
In my haste I forgot I've only researched mining and bronze working, so my cities have nothing to build until granaries become available! I'm #1 in soldier count and population. That's telling me I was one of the first ones to bronze working (second place is only 2000 soldiers behind me, so I might just have an extra warrior over them). Also, I might be the first to a second city. Getting granaries and the copper city founded will be my next priorities. I'll get another worker in after the barracks in Eggnog Paradise, as well.

I have found Commodore!
Annnnnd I apparently didn't take a screenshot. Next turn, then!
But Commodore is Brennus (SPI/CHM) of India. Those fast workers make all of the difference in snowballing a civ, so I'll have to keep an eye down south. But Donovan and Commodore will be my neighbor buddies in this campaign. I actually lucked out, as besides an early quechua rush, my neighbors' traits and civs aren't the default invasiony type, such as aggressive praetorians and the like.

I remembered the screenshot this turn!
From the tile improvements, Commodore at least has hunting and mining researched.
