CIV VI PBEM

I'm not about to tackle two PBEMs at once, else I'd consider joining this one. I would be willing to give mapmaking a shot (with some lurker advice) but Cornflakes would need to give me a pointer to setting up the map (even if it's a link to a past lurker thread describing the process). HOWEVER, I would not be able to set up the map until after March 9th due to my upcoming vacation.

With the official release of World Builder after Gathering Storm, map setup should be straightforward. Woden could better comment on map setup now but I think everything can be accomplished in game without any of my workaround procedure.

At one point you had a script to generate a pile of maps with thumbnails - is that still working & available?

It is much easier to make saves from custom maps but there are a few things that can make it difficult. I can update the mapmaking thread again with the update processes. Probably be a week or two but it doesn't look like people are chomping at the bit to get a game going anyways.

The script was jury rigged, using AutoHotkey which took control of the computer, replicating mouse clicks (specific to my screen resolution) and keystrokes. Combine that with Gathering Storm changing the sequence and layout of some of the map generation options with the official WorldBuilder release and it is no longer functional.

Would you say that it’s worth getting civ 6? I fully expect to get a certain kind of answer, but I just want to hear some opinions. I’d join the PBEM if I buy it, but I’m not sure if I can move on from 3/4. The taste of disappointment from 5 lives on...
