Bless you commodore, thank you ten thousand times for giving me a start custom-designed to getting the most out of my fast workers. May Sid Meier himself grace you with the divine touch of strategy gaming. May you prosper just as my empire will prosper under the 14 fast-worker efficient chops that you have granted me.

Also, relatively clear city 2 down below lmao. Might move it 1 tile up for corn sharing?

Wait, how is 21 GNP possible? I was really worried, then I realized research bonus is included. someone is going BW first or, more likely, AH first. This one must also be creative. Vanrober or Lazteuq (perhaps both) is/are researching AH or BW and are working river food.
MFG makes sense more or less, as does CY. MJMD clearly didn't found a city btw...
Biggest life expectancy, so I have forests up on everyone, very, very, very nice commodore. Big good.

1578 tiles? (9/0.0057)
This is pretty neutral information, so would be nice if lurkers could confirm my math.

I'll try to do some very basic demo tracking/extrapolation.

Curious that starts were not on the sea. I think commodore has something very nice in plan for the map overall.

Will try to micro later in the week, but for now, we have 1 saved worker turn on entering the forest and camping it.

Tech path is:
Hunting -> Agri -> BW -> Wheel -> Pottery -> Religion??? OR Writing OR Sailing

There seems to be some coast up north. I am honestly thinking that GL would not be a bad idea on this map.

Sure, unless MJMD still needs one, I believe he's the only green without one?

Edit: Though I will say, dedlurking worker micro sounds more fascinating than an immortal rush.

Dutch are my neighbor. Should I wheel back to grab KTB? Scouting has always been a weakness for me.

To me, the most important part of scouting, at least at first, is to find sites to settle. Worst thing you can do is settle a mediocre 3rd city because you didn't didn't uncover that one tile that has a pig.

In recent RtR, you can be more cavalier, because scouts are basically immune to animals, but in base, scout get chomped pretty easily, so knowing your environs is key.

Unless you plan on attacking the dutch on turn 26, of course wink

I'm not sure where you are (I think you went East?), but were I you, I'd like to swing down south to your 2nd city and explore that area, looking for sites down there.

Stop! Micro time!

Currently turn 10, and we are 5 turns from agriculture, and working on a camp.
Start warrior while working the deer (strange, yes)
Worker turns saved: 1

Turn 11:
turn 12:
turn 13: camp complete
turn 14: move worker to corn. warrior complete, start ANOTHER
Reasoning - well, not much else to do, with this start, tech is absolutely slow, and I have plemo as a neighbor. I want a warrior as a buffer to have advance warning of any threats.

turn 15:
start farm, finish agri and start BW
turn 16:
turn 17:
turn 18: start settler
turn 19: farm complete, settler in 8 turns.
turn 20: time to save worker turns. go to 1E of dehli so that the PH can be mined and farming the floodplains does not waste a turn.
turn 21: plains hill mine 1/4
turn 22:
23:
24:
turn 25: Start farm, 1/7
turn 26:
turn 27: send settler to the pigs. Start on stonehenge.
turn 28:
turn 29: get BW, start AH, found city 2 (bombay) - start on fast worker
turn 30: Dehli grows size 3, give corn to bombay, work plains hills - with 2 turns left on farm, switch to chopping forests - 1W (3 worker turns saved now)
turn 32...35
turn 36: stonehenge with 2 chops, send worker to mine copper in the south. start on another, final warrior
turn 38: capital takes back the corn, starts on a settler

This micro sucks.
Let's be real here, throw in one skirmisher, and it's GG for me, and "dubs" for someone like plemo or superdeath.

Stonehenge... may just not be possible. My start is largely constrained by tech - I am simply not able to generate enough early commerce to get a solid lead. I should be focusing on development. I can cop some mid-game wonders with marble, GL, parthenon, mausoleum - or going for a turn 65 great lighthouse.

Although I am charismatic, and getting stonehenge would be insane, I am not sure I can risk any other way. If my neighbor were known to be someone who isn't agg, I could look for wonders. Let's try a quick settlers micro.

More on that later tho, but it seems that the key point here is that settler pops out by 27 or 28 depending on working deer or corn respectively. However, working deer ends up with 6-7 less food.

When such suboptimal situations arise, swapping tiles is probably the solution, but here it doesn't seem to help.
And in fact, the 1 turn faster settler is worse than the amount of food lost, because we can then 2 turn a warrior and efficiently transition into building a second fast worker.
