d3 + c3 wuld be overkill imo, 4 prereq promos seems fine as is. how is d3 + c1 different than d4 anyway?

d3 + mob or flank would also be fine but, again: how is it different than d3 + c1? they're all pretty good promotions, especially mobility.

mobility would actually make sense since you definitely want it alongside with blitz, but that might be too good.

flanking 1 I don't like as not all unit lines can get that.

It's diff bc c1 is ALWAYS taken. Plus, agg leaders start with c1. Requiring c1 is basically like not having any requirements at all.

I mean yes, exp limitations and all that, but still, tons of units could get an extra c1 in their sleep, assuming ofc that they didn't start with it already.

ah yes, very good point about aggressive, forgot about that. mobility could work then, or mob1 + c1 if needed. ( basically two half-requirements since you'll want both asap anyway ) . d3 + c2 is also a reasonable option.

another thought on civ balance: with Republic in place alongside Guardians of Nature, the elven economy is OP imo. GoN alone is already over the top in FFH really.

I think the ideal solution would be having GoN provide happiness via Forest Preserve improvements rather than simply features. this keeps FoL desirable for all civs and nerfs the insane synergy elves get with it.

Make the requirement 4 promos not 5.

Sure they're awesome when they get set up, but it takes awhile.
Same with amurites et al.

what would people think about changing the formation promo prereq from c2 to c1 like shock and cover?

mounted troops are pretty damn good in FFH and there's no spearmen as hard counter unlike vanilla. there's really no reason to make formation harder to get than it should imo.

That's stupid.
If I'm building 3-promo units to counter the hippus I don't want then to have to have to take shock or cover.
