Turn 29

Fishing came in, so I changed Yamato to a workboat after 1 turn on a warrior. The mine was also finished, so Yamato is working the riverside grassland hill mine for the hammers and the extra 1 commerce.

Enterprise will finish the 2nd worker EOT, will switch to a warrior and grow to size 3, then switch to a settler (should only take 2 turns to grow). The new worker will move to chop the northern forested grassland hill to help get the settler out faster. The first worker will move S one tile and chop the forest on that grassland hill to speed the work boat, then after that will pasture the sheep. Yamato will build two warriors while it grows, then switch to another worker.

Caledorn also planted his second city this turn, and Whosit did a 2-pop chop, I suspect to get out a settler. AI got a pop increase of one and a 6-point tech, and Agent427 got a tech.

We're tied for first on food, so we'll probably start getting a nice lead there when the fish and sheep come online

Turn 30/31

Big news to report is Caledorn discovered Polytheism/Hinduism this turn. We're 5 turns from The Wheel. Started chopping two forests -- one for the work boat in Yamato, the other for the 3rd Settler in Enterprise. Enterprise will grow to size 3 next turn, when we will switch from the Warrior it is currently building to a Settler.

I've taken shots of the demos, but frankly my interest in digging in has somewhat waned. I'm just going to play the best game we can. As more cities come online it gets harder and harder to figure out details, anyway. Though amusingly in a chat with Caledorn on Wednesday I predicted his current research as Polytheism. He wouldn't tell me one way or the other, but we were talking about C&D and he asked if I had any idea what his tech path had been and what he was researching now. lol

Whosit planted his first city this past turn (T30), which coincides with his 2-pop whip on T29. Which means his city is pretty close. Though he did start with Wheel, so he could have pre-roaded to get a little more distance.

Back in town, finally. At this point, its tougher to decipher each individual move, understandable on the fatigue with digging into the demos. It's ok to peel back and just shots are fine.

Not surprising on Hinduism going to Caledorn, they were the only civ to start with mysticism, after all.

Any revelations with the next city spot? We need to make a dot map that way, city 4 should probably pick up one of the happy resources.

I'll take a good screenshot when I play today (just going to be a button push) and post it and we can do some dotmapping.

Turn 32

Enterprise hit size 3 and switched from warrior to settler.

And I took some screenshots for dotmapping. I really want to do some more exploring, so how to you feel about producing a scout as one of the next several builds? Or should we use a warrior?

Sent some responses on gchat, not sure if they made it to you. I think a warrior would be more helpful followed by a scouting WB. The warrior can fogbust the rice/copper, gold, or silver, I don't think we have many hammers to spare at this point on a scout.

I did see them, just went to the movies with my wife today. smile

I'm mainly concerned about the spit of land to the SE. I really want to know what's down there, because there could be a fabulous city location and we haven't seen very far down it.

But we can use a warrior for it. We'll have a few in the not-too-distant future.

Turn 33 & 34

Another combo post because not a whole lot happened T33. T34 we got our work boat and netted the fish for Yamato. The overflow is enough to 1 turn the warrior that we started building. That worker moved south onto the sheep and will begin pasturing them next turn, and I switched the tile being worked to the fish from the mine and Yamato will hit size 2 in 4 turns.

The other chop went into Enterprise for the settler, which will now be out in 5 turns. That worker stayed on his tile and began mining the riverside grassland hill.

The Wheel is due in 2 turns. After that, Pottery, though we will have to go to 0% to build up some cash as we'll be down to 1 gold.

After the warrior finishes in Yamato, what next? A warrior or a scouting work boat?

I'd almost argue to dump the overflow into a worker for one turn. It's a few extra hammers. A warrior is good to go explore south by the copper, who knows if there might be actual food there.

Definitely binary research for the time being. Pottery and then Mysticism as we'll need monuments for border pops in the gold/silver region.

Hmm. That's not a bad idea. I didn't want to do a worker until Yamato hit size 2 and could work the fish + mine (thus getting the EXP bonus), but we could throw the overflow into it then switch back to warrior.

EDIT: Made the change. It was 21 hammers overflow, so it's actually better to throw it at the worker than the warrior. Will switch back to warrior next turn to grow, then worker when it finishes, then maybe warrior again?
