Foot obviously. But Im drawing a blank on the second.
Could foot be a thermometer word? If not we are looking for a word that fits thermometer + sandal

Surely must be Foot.
India seems likely. (Gandhi wore them, didn't he?)

Other possibilities:
Oil - do you oil sandals to keep them supple? Not awful.
Tap - sound made while walking on a hard surface. Fairly weak.
Fighter - Roman and Greek warriors used to wear them. Very weak.

We should remember our final thermometer word is one of Face, Leprechaun, Staff and these two. I'm happy with that being Face if everyone else is; if not, that strengthens the case for Oil. But surely Oil + Foot could be clued with something like massage or aromatherapy, whereas India + Foot has to be some form of footwear used in India.

Same here. I don't see the connection between foot and thermometer, so the last one is probably a thermometer word. Bar ? Tap ?

Foot is for sure one. Could that also be a thermometer word? Foot thermometer? Does that ring a bell to anyone? If not, what could work with both clues? Sandal Bar sounds familiar to me but I'm not certain where - but Bar could easily be a thermometer word.

Yes but it's also a thermometer word. As none of us are seing obvious sandal words I'd go with looking for a thermometer word and try to find a connection with sandal. Just like Aurorarcher did with sandal bar

I spose Staff might have been thermometer. Similar shape-ish.
Bar was blue. Also Ive heard of sand bar, but not sandal bar
