[NO PLAYERS] WW err CIV6 Game 4

The pretending to give up thing seemed overkill. Was Woden going to route his fleet in the best way for Oledavy just because he wasn't posting in the forum?

Still pretty cool to see how you can tactically turn things around like that

Very well played so far, good luck!

The game would be even worse because there would be no possibility of everyone dogpiling Oledavy to overpower the VA.

Doesn't Civ6 have an AI diplo option "declare war on X"? I know it's not in 4, but pretty sure they made it possibly in 5

Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't think of a successful dogpile in any of our games, whatever diplo options were on the table. And Dave has been playing a strong game, VA or not, and I would argue if he wasn't VA would not have helped him

Maybe in terms of a balanced long-running game for the lurkers - although you'd be surprised at some of the dogpiles arranged in AI Diplo, and Civ6 even has the option for asking someone to declare war on a specified target, I think.

But I think the game would have been better in terms of the players having fun, without the diplo thread. Too hard for them to keep track of person vs. persona, and also most of the irritation around 'cheese' would have been reduced, without the opportunity for it to happen in the first place.

This is a special situation caused by the VA so I wouldn't think about past or future games here, but anyway:

I can think of exploit in PBEM#1 and two guys or so that came before him right off the top of my head. RB in ISDG2 and Team Trolls too. The main problem that dogpiles face is that people don't want to contribute to the downfall of the leader but diplo bypasses the problem by enabling you to talk and make commitments.

Edit: And also PAL and Imperio in ISD1

Archduke might actually take out singaboy. If that happens I would demand oledavy take out the last city for me or singaboy sign peace (and retire to AI). It doesn't matter that the city was brought because the second Archduke takes out the second to last city it is a phony war.

Doesn't matter anyhow, Woden already razed it.

@Cornflakes, do you still have screenshots of the map before you made the edits? I'm curious

I don't have screenshots but I have attached the raw un-edited worldbuilder file. Made sure to back up a copy before I started editing things. You will need to enable the worldbuilder and paste this map into the worldbuilder saves folder. I had to attach as in zip file since the forum rejected the map file type.
