That is likely correct.
Did you pull the trigger at the time because you were worried they figure out what you were doing or for some other reason?

I was doing as fast as possible so Bing wouldn't get invaded. Again, I could have delayed the tech and kept the units in queue as I had been and then still had a better strike force then I went with. But yes, once I had the tech I was afraid Charriu would report it. That is why I whipped NOTHING the turn I got Astro.

Just so it doesn't look so one sided I'm mostly fine with your move. But boy does your rhetoric not help your case at times

No one seemed to mind my logic defending democracy (or not many people). My problem was I was using logic assuming NAPs were just things like contracts and treaties, but its instead a social norm. You obviously can't use logic on things like social norms. People used to go around calling each other barbarians because the other peoples social norms didn't make sense / they thought they were "bad". but its just different social norms are different. I was basically being called a barbarian by people because I wasn't in on the social norm and I was really confused by that.

I just want to be clear, I was arguing based on what you have reported about timings, strength, etc. Please don't interpret anything about what others have reported based on it.
I am biting my tongue off right now, but I've said my piece here.

This is more fun than the game, but I'm also more afraid to comment

Three Four things
1."If I’m in a (perceived) weaker position during the time, I agreed to a pact, I‘m allowed to break the pact." This is my take away from your actions and your explanations in the thread.
This wasn't intended as a judgment about this case here.
2. I agree with Miguelito (and few others ?), that the NAP-Break was a valid move and maybe the winning move in this game.
3. I think too, that your explanations here didn't help much. I think, quite a bit of the backlash came from your comparisons.
4. PB90 (civforum) is difficult. Wrong thread, more per PM or in german, but I don't expect vanguard to play another game in the near future.

#1 isn't the situation. If people can stop saying "perceived" it would greatly help.
- I honestly did not do it to win the game. I did it because he threatened me. I think SD has a good chance especially because Bing keeps building WAY too many skirms.
- Again on the historical comparisons I was trying to walk logic from a point where everyone could clearly see. I did not mean to offend. Again, I think China is probably the closest comparison, but again real life countries are so much harder and different. Also, wars in real life are real bad. Next time I'll go with boring legal arguments.
- I wouldn't have accepted that deal. That is the time to find a sub. I won't get into too much because it isn't relevant here.

By the way I popped a GA and am ignoring your advice on attack vector mainly due to timing and forces available. Maybe I'll actually report tonight, but probably not, PB66 is just such a time sink.
Edit: SD did get Taj. I was like 15 turns from getting, so wasn't close.

This sums up my (and I believe a couple of other people's) position well.
