[SPOILERS] ALWAYS PEACE? What will Lewwyn do?

We actually have been getting a turn a day over this break.

I don't appear to have pics from T157. Not much happened beyond workers working, buildings building and another turn of tech.

T158:

I was able to steal those tiles from Nakor, but I didn't get the forest frown

Just 1 turn too late.

In the north:

My artists have popped borders and I've almost secured the flank against Nakor. One more city and I won't have to worry about any of Nakor's settlers.

I love owning Cyneheard's fish and cows. Even if its only for a few turns.

Demos:

I think this calls for the GNP graph:

Really quite beautiful. jive

T159:

So in this turn I will show you three cities. They will be working on getting my Great People for future GAs.

First:

Giraffes has been working on this Great person for ages. It will finally finish the turn the GA ends. I have no idea what I'll get but it will be useful.

Second:

Elephants will hopefully produce a GM, GE or a GPriest. When the population rises again I'll have it be a priest. This GP will be for the 3rd GA. It won't pop soon enough for the second, but I should be able to get it to pop during the second GA.

Third:

Heh, GA or GE will pop from here. This will probably be the GP I'll use for the second GA with the Econ GM if the GP from Giraffes is a GM. For this city I will stay in CS. I will not switch back into Slavery. I probably switch back during the Second GA to do some whipping but then I will be switching into US during the second GA and I will switch back out of Slavery and into Emancipation.

Demos:

Communism finished this turn. I will tech Feud>Guilds>Banking>Economics. Then Nationalism>Constitution>Democracy. I may stick Corporation in before Democracy depending on when I feel I will pop the 2nd GA.

T160:

Finished Feudalism this turn. Cyneheard has teched feudalism and guilds I assume he is going for banking. Banks for his shrine? I think PP would have been more effective. Scooter has PP now, and I think it was the better move. But I'll take those known tech discounts! lol

I stole the 2 forests there from Nakor. YAY! You can also see stone is connected. I started building oxford in Noah this turn as it was connected. Noah is top Science producer and has the production to build Oxford. I'm pretty sure this is the best place considering ease of building and the fact that Noah has all the science buildings plus a couple monasteries. Zebras may have been a better city, but its production is SO low that it hasn't even finished a uni let alone the observatory or have the time for Oxford.

This is just a shot of my border with Nakor where Scooter's Q is trapped smile

61 Workers. And they are located in the new frontiers. I think its an interesting pic. The one central worker was built this turn and will be moving towards the borders.

Demos:

Haven't switched into Communism yet. Have to wait one more turn.

Still being #1 in land is really gratifying.

T161:

Switched into State Property. Turned up tech another notch for one turn. beakers galore.

Here you can see the effects of that city, beavers, running all those artists. I'm going to steal a FP from that city's 2nd ring. lololol. Cyne's gonna be pissed.

Something else I found interesting. The cities furthest from my cap are getting 2C per trade route! Where is this occurring?

Good to know. Elephants and Noah are both providing 2C per route. Every city above that line will be getting 4C from trade routes + the city tile + the tiles it works. Maintenance is 5gpt for number of cities. Basically every city I plant up there will be paying for itself. And once I get corporation, Each new city planted will actually be generating positive income. Yes, I know that maintenance for number of cities may go up nation wide, but I believe that will be negligible.

Looks like I'll have to keep planting cities.

Demos:

So that's what my GNP looks like with State Property. It's basically 500+ GNP. About 200+ raw commerce filtered through all those multiplier buildings. I will be sad when the GA ends. Good thing I'm planning on 2 more soon enough.

In tech, Guilds finished EOT and Banking next. You may have noticed, but each of these 3 techs have been teched only with overflow. The amount of overflow riding behind these techs is actually growing. After banking Economics will take 1T as well and I believe I'll have enough overflow to finish Nationalism in 1T too.

And yes Cyneheard teched Banking this turn so I'm getting more discount on this tech too. smile

I wonder when Cyne will pop his GA and what it will look like.

Good stuff.

Worth noting that I've just read two T158 updates from you for two different games.
And on the sixth day, god created Manchester.

Helping out: PBEM23 (Egypt)
Dedlurked: PBEM15 (Ottomans)

Yeah. lol The turns synced up T155. Played both the same day. Since then 22 has gone ahead. Funny since 22 was the slower of the two for a while, but we've hit a bit of speed while 21 has lagged over the Holidays.

So the big news on the turn is that Cyne popped his GA. I assume he used the GS he popped a little while ago. Why did he pop now?

lol
He's going with my idea of Merc+rep. It's such a cool plan. The problem is he still doesn't have PP which is a huge waste. Now that he's in merc he's teched Philo. He's going to go CS>Nationalism>Constitution. Basically using his whole golden age to set up the nation wide free rep specs.

I mean its something I wanted to do, but the more I planted cities and the more I thought with Lib, going straight for SP looked like the right path. Esp with PP and FS. I'm not sure if this was Cyne's original goal, or if he simply wanted to try this out after it became clear I was winning. We are sort of Sandboxing now... but then again one of the beauties of this game is that we're all sandboxing the whole time. The fun in this game is really about the empire, which is probably why noone has said anything about calling the game. I'm seriously enjoying every turn, and it wouldn't surprise me if the others were too. I think we may actually go to the victory screen...

Oh and notice that I'm going to try and flip that city. :neenernee Will I be the one to capture a city in an Always peace game?

Trapped Q smile

Scooter deleted his trapped Q here. Plus a new Nakor settler.

Wonder what Demos look like with Cyne in a GA?

I'm still almost 1k GNP ahead during my GA. I know that when I drop out of the GA, it will go back down but I don't think I will be far beneath Cyne's GA production. Plus, I'll be back in a GA hopefully in 3 turns. I may not get a chance to stay in CS very long... Emancipation is coming fast. I'm 5 techs away and I think I may be able to get there in 5 turns. That will be a treat. Cottage growing faster? More Towns? Towns giving hammers? Gold rush buy? Though... I really think Slavery is something I'll miss. I'll just have to cottage everything in order to take advantage of continuous pop growth.

Next turn I pop to GP. The odds are on a GS and a GM. I could start my GA straight away. I'm actually thinking about grabbing construction and engineering real quick so that my workers can move a bit better... Nah, civics first...

So second turn of Cyne's GA, and the last turn of mine.

Getting traction on flipping that city. Mockingbird's culture is popping in 2T and will add to the pressure.

I got a GM and a GS at EOT. I could restart the GA next turn. Not sure if I want to do that yet or not. I will get Nationalism in 1T and Constitution may take 1T or 2T depending on overflow. Actually it's probably fine if I restart the GA next turn. I'm looking to use CS to pop the GArtist. That will only take 3-4T in a GA. Then I can switch to US and Emancipation after that pops. Once that happens I'll be in my final civics. The 3rd GA can wait until I'm closer to Rocket parts.

Demos:

The GA ended, but I'm still #1 in GNP. smile

Nice reporting. Just how long does it take you to play a turn, with your 60+ workers?

DaveV Wrote:Nice reporting. Just how long does it take you to play a turn, with your 60+ workers?

Well, depends. I find it really enjoyable figuring out my worker moves, so actually not long enough. :neenernee

I probably only take about 10 minutes to do worker moves actually. Usually half to 3/4 already have orders. I spend the rest of the time looking at the turn and deciding other variables such as build orders, tech and looking at my opponents. Depending on how long I want to sit there it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. I spend a lot of time just looking at the game before I end turn mapping out worker movements for next turn. Then I end turn and I look at it some more. I can finish the turn in 30 minutes and get the save off and move on but I really enjoy lingering on this game. I like to leave the save open and come back to it sometimes. Nothings changing but I like to study the empire, how I've built it and how I can use what I learned here in other games.

So short answer, between 30 minutes and 2 hours, depending on how much free time I have. I've also been known to burn through turns in 20 minutes when I'm pressed for time.

Holy crap! Cyneheard updated his thread. Yay.

BTW I timed the last two turns I played. 30 minutes and 45 minutes.

T164:

Started my 2nd golden age. Figured I just didn't have a reason to wait. Still trying to flip that city. I'm running CS still since I just switched into SP. I will switch into Slavery T166 with 6 turns of GA left. Then I'll switch into US and Emancipation on the last turn of GA.

Nakor's settler.

I think the culture borders between CYne and Scooter are interesting. Scooter really pressed him.

Almost double GNP. We're both in GAs.

Cyne has teched Paper. No alphabet though, so no PP. Paper is weird though if he's going for Rep.

T165:

Nakor settled a border blocker city in the south:

That's cool. My borders are set, and I'm pretty sure I have more land cordoned off then any of my opponents. Gonna whip a whole bunch of settlers during my 5 Turn slavery binge.

Next turn I can change.

Demos:

Cyne has more hammers than me and its because he has more cities than me. I have more land area now because he's planting cities all up on my border. But each of those cities is getting a hammer on the city tile and any other tiles its citizens work. I have a larger population since I have more larger cities, but in terms of number of citizens, Cyne may be about even. He just has more city tiles too. Its ICS logic. smile

Cyne teched but didn't get anything as far as I can tell. Probably is teching nationalism now and will finish it next turn.

I will finish Corporation next turn. I have 8 banks built in 5 turns and can start wall street in 6 in Elephants. Would like a grocer there soon too but maybe I'll just cash buy that.

And my dotmap for the north:

I switched into slavery. I'm about to begin whipping Settlers and workers. I have 2 settlers ready to whip

Also this means I don't need to get Democracy for 4 turns. I got corporation this turn (+1 TRs) and I will get Construction+Engineering before I get Democracy.

I need to figure out how to show you guys wide stretches of my lands. Can't figure out the zooms on my mac version. Time to go googling...

Anyway new turn brings joy:

My Artist popped. He will now sit. I think I'm going to have to start Elephants a bit to get the Priest popped in time to give my cities extra hammers during the Spaceship build

My cities screen:

I've gotten a lot of forges built. half my cities have built observatories and unis. Banks building. Check out those settler builds about to be whipped. I also got 2 settlers built at the EOT. You can see them on the Artist screenie at the top. 2 workers finished too.

Let me know if you want more pics and of what. The empire is so big its hard to decide what to show.

Demos:

I finished Construction EOT and will tech Enigineering next turn. With the overflow from these two techs I will finish Democracy in 1 turn as well.

Cyneheard teched Liberalism this turn. He will be switching into Free Speech next turn so he'll start pushing back on my cities. frown I really liked pushing his culture around.
