Azza's power has been increasing, but not at a breakneck pace. OTOH, his pile of axes could cause us real trouble, and in Dental Plan they fork us, as expected. I really regret trying for Nothing at All, we might have held Dental Plan otherwise.
It looks like we're going to have to have a round of whips to stack up a bunch of cats and HA and archers and such. Fortunately the bulk of the new cities are to a point where they could use a 2-pop whip anyway to keep from outgrowing their happy caps.
We captured the barb city this turn, and should found the whales city next turn. So we just need to hold on another 10 more turns and we should have no trouble outproducing Azza. The tricky part is three turns from now when the peace ends.

yeah, let's get some chariots to keep that axe stack in check.

And the martinets of the turn pace are driving me up a wall! 'no, you can't play your own turn, you're not fast enough' 'it's totally unreasonable to not play a war turn in a given 12 hour period', 'if you can't ask for a pause you don't deserve one, scum', '33 players is no excuse, this game must go as fast or faster than every other game on this site'.
In the last 100 turns, Azza and I combined to cause a 1-day delay, once. Because he had the first half, and couldn't play in time for me to play our half in a single day, and then the game was down. And they pushed LP to offer to play the war turn for us!
There's an easier way to get a turn that rolls as often as you want. It's called 'Single Player'.
I swear, I'm tempted to spite Boldly and Dhalphir and their buddies, and straight up gift our empire to FinHarry and quit.
I'm sticking with it because Azza and FinHarry are being reasonable and it'd be unfair to them. Especially to FinHarry, who look to have a decent shot at winning this outright. They deserve their potential win to be uncontaminated by favoritism.

Listen to Brick!

Last 20 turns or so has been slowly losing to Scooter. He has amphibious rifles and 6-move galleons, and all of my cities are near coastal, so long term survival is nil. I moved back all of my forces into the city you will soon see featured, due to being on a hill and having good cultural defense. Basically, trying to make things as hard as humanly possible for Scooter to finish me quickly. Dying slow can actually be kinda fun if you don't care about the losing, I might add.
Here was an except of a chat when I was talking with a lurker about my super secret awesome plan last night; I didn't post it here yet because I rarely post and activity is circumspect:

okay
10:57 PM that unit list is my stack'o'crap in my capital
with some new and snazzy muskets making sure it's alive right now
i have those warriors and scout moved towards bluegrass, so if scooter thinks about/sees the chariot he thinks i might try a feint over there
but
10:58 PM those two rifles 3W1S of my cap
if they move together and leave a road open towards the west
i can move that chariot to take Sebastian Moran
and due to culture he can't get back in time that turn
enabling me to take back Kudzu the next turn
10:59 PM that's current master plan
And I open up this turn to see this:
I have a chariot. And an undefended former city 4 tiles away. You know what that means.
OH YEAH LOOK I GOT MY CITY BACK. granted, I can only hold it for 2 turns. But it's an annoyance for Scooter to go back and get, and I have the jovialness of saying i took a city from scooter in 1555AD with a chariot. Plus, unless he's close to finishing something or whipping something in Kudzu, I can take THAT next turn too. Chariots >>> rifles.

That's a lot of axes. And those spears mean we won't have a great shot at trying to hit them first....

That is why the catapult was invented. Only reason we're not building more of those is that we also need hitters.

Ok, seven chariots, a HA, and an archer due to complete EOT. At which point the peace treaty expires and we hope we don't need them just yet.
FinHarry offered us Open Borders, and I ended up accepting. Xenu offered a spare gold for our only furs - which might even have been tempting if we hadn't popped a gold. But since that's due to be hooked up soon, I refused.
We're going to have to actually build missionaries, it appears. The barb city got a free spread...of Judaism. Which proves to me that the Holy City civ doesn't have to know the entire route, because there's no way for it to have been seen. So I guess we'll have to go back for Monotheism sometime.
Other than that, just keep on keeping on. Longbows will be nice to have, certainly.

We *do* have a fair number of chariots to go with Azza's axe stacks.
Don't yet have a good way to clear the spears out from under the axes, HA are our best shot at that. But if we're lucky we don't have to fight for the next 8 turns anyway.

No attack from Azza . He is up to 10 cities, to our 11, though, so outproducing him may not be super-simple.
