If the missing words were foot + india....sandal is a good clue, I cant imagine anything else better.

In fact I cant find any reasonable combo with foot + any missing word that should be cued sandal. Unless.. people around Loch Ness are famous for sandals, or pumpkin sandals are a big thing.
