Oh and I did the following setting the game up:
- copied and pasted the whole file to a new, blank one in Notepad++ . I am aware that this should not do anything, but I had done something similar with the save that had gone until mack, and I was desperate, so why not.
- replaced the leader name for Dave which naufragar had set manually with the standard one
- game turn limit to 480
- removed the Option=GAMEOPTION_DOUBLE_BONUSES line, because my successful test game didn't have it
- did not set an admin password. I think I did that inadvertedly with the save that first got through Dave and Cairo (but got stuck with mack). I also stumbled upon an old thread where they mentioned rumours that setting an admin password can cause problems. That means that we can't recover passwords in case somebody goes missing, so it would be nice if you could post your PWs in your threads / PM them to naufragar / somebody you trust.
