Looking ahead now; I'll be up to 20 cities with the mainland in ~3 more turns, then I have the annoyance of killing island cities. Making a couple waves of Taoist missionaries, culture is going to be important particularly in the NE. Growing on these cottages absolutely gives me the best economy in the game, but will it be enough to make up for the missed forges/markets/banks/castles?
Two more turns to caravels, then Paper is a 2t tech, and Astronomy is 9t.

wow, that was fast. Knights are good, it seems

would that be allowed by your house rules, if two peoples threaten a third at the same time?

would that be allowed by your house rules, if two peoples threaten a third at the same time? Nope, but rules are just what you get away with. No matter, Bing just did the slightly scuzzy middle path of emptying all his defenders and then he peaced after Pin waltzed in.
The blitz is over, so the name of the game now is efficiency. I want to kill Bing at a reasonable speed, without sacrificing too many units. Big nasty garrisons like this are always kind of a question, how best to approach?
My solution here was the bombard with the two Accuracy-promoted catapults and then send in a pair of lower-XP cats to soften up the defenders. At this point, the C2 knights get odds:
Only lost one. Maces aren't nearly as good as knights but they manage okay in these circumstances.
Looking at the shape of the island, I note to my relief that two cities can fit on it, so I probably won't have to search for the Final Khmer. Pretty close to the second great general, so I'll dump more XP on the medic while making a 4-move galley. Having a 6-move galleon would be a big deal and it's time to start thinking about that. Four caravels get started next turn, then whipped immediately after. Going to be a lot of exploration going forward.

I like how I post like there's a lot more game to go, when the Germans have just straight up decided we're going to have a 48-hour turn timer via delay. I don't think I can stand much more of this.

Notoriously unpunctual people, those Germans.
There is no way to peace. Peace is the way.

I had the misfortune of interacting with their train network last year and yeah, the stereotypes don't hold up
Then again, at least they have a train network?

one of the largest... but yeah, it sucks to see it going down because everyone wants to use his own car and politicians don't think "modern", but that's probably true for a a lot of countries.
Regarding this game, maybe some are not used to do a complex turn in a hurry. You can stretch rules if they are soft enough, a matter a taste if you like it that way or the other. Not sure though, if it's "the germans".
Btw, that's the main reason I don't play multiplayer (besides being bad in civ) because I have to think a lot about everything, which is fine in one week but doesn't work for another week.

Sounds like we need to get going on setting up the Medieval Start game we were talking about when 71 ended.
I've been missing having a turn to play when I get home but I don't want to do the organizing.

Propose it and I'll be a signup. It sure would be nice to have a turn to play...

Since I have to go up early tomorrow, I won't be able to make my turn tonight. With luck I'll make it during my lunch break, but maybe not until after work, so I'll need 8 hours.
