[SPOILERS] Athlete and Lewwyn are SHAKA OF THE VIKINGS

Charlottetown is now 2 turns from Size 15 and completing it's temple.

Fredricton completed it's temple at EOT and will probably pump a few missionaries now. At EOT120 it's borders expand which will give me +60% defence here which will be super nice.

Halifax completed it's workboat and will build another Trireme and then a couple galleys I think.

Montreal started a settler this turn and will now complete in 5 more turns.

Ottawa will have it's walls complete in 2 more turns. After that I believe it will try and grow while starting a Forge. This is probably the first time I've ever built walls lol

Niagara Falls completed it's settler and I moved 3 workers into a forest beside it and will chop out another worker on T120.

Quebec City will have a worker done at EOT120 and will continue on a forge.

St. John's is 1T away from size 3 where it will work the crabs, grass/cottage and grass/hill/horse. Should be able to complete the workboat pretty quickly to get that 2nd crab online.

1000 + 2*your entire civ population for most great people. 1500 + 3*pop for a scientist. Modify for game speed. Do not modify for known arrow prereqs or devaluation.

Thank you T-Hawk!

I got and played the turn this morning. Before I played the turn this is the e-mail I got from Nakor:

Quote:Hey Athlete,

Seems like my norther border isn't that secure. There are some cats and HA's gathering...
Thankfully I have CB's now, so that should help a lot...

I feel war's coming. Wonder who will be the first...

Cheers,
Nakor

Combine that with this:

Sorry I forgot to highlight it but it's the spice tile in Babylonian territory, on my border. Is that a combat engineer or is he hooking up the spices? I'm still not convinced he's heading for Nakor.

I kind of thought he was trying to hide them from me. I don't have an NAP with him...do you?

Played T121 - 150AD yesterday.

During the turn I founded Moncton (my fish/pigs site NE of Niagara Falls).
Started what will be a 2T catapult in Niagara Falls.

At EOT:

Charlottetown completed it's Temple and grew to Size 15.
Fredricton completed an Archer that will make it's way to Ottawa.
Halifax completed my 2nd Trireme.
Ottawa completed it's walls.

And I decided I could spend time chopping my jungle away because of this:

The worker is chopping which means there's no turns of road invested so there's no immediate attack coming. He could always worker steal but it's not his style. We've both had lots of opportunity to do so, and neither of us have. I highly doubt he'll start now.

In a bit of diplo news, Ruff is going to try and mess with Nakor and lead him to believe Babylon is coming for me. I'm kinda already doing that so...I'm just not entirely convinced he's not coming for me!

Finally...some War :ranele:

It's not actually me, Babylon (TRD) declared on Byzantine (Nakor), which is a huge relief for me. This was probably the best thing possible. Now I just need Nakor to make it a long painful war for TRD.

Here's a pic of the war theater at the moment. I'll do my best to keep you updated. The whole reason Paul Coffey is there is to try and watch this play out.

In domestic news, Code of Laws was completed at EOT. My first catapult was built in Niagara Falls at EOT and I'm getting positioned to found my 10th city in a few turns. Also my 90%ish GE is due out of Halifax at EOT124 smile finally. A quick mouseover of civil service after I end turn says I can have it in 7 turns at 50% research which means EOT130.

Just a little bit of diplo going on. A quick note to TRD that said Good luck! A note off to Nakor trying to get some info from him on his chances of defending, and I received an e-mail from Seven wondering what the hell was going on. Just sent a note back confirming TRD declared and that I hope it goes on a while.

Got this from Nakor:
Quote:Thanks Athlete,
I hope to have CB's in time in most of my cities (going pretty good).
Need to hold onto Antioch for just 1t to whip one.

After that I should be relatively safe, but I might tech Feudalism soon, hopefully in time.
It is needed for guilds anyway...

I'm talking to TRD to change his mind and make him see sense.

Cheers,
Nakor

I certainly hope he doesn't make him see sense!

And a quick update on the war front:

Nakor does not have anything that can reinforce that city on T124. He doesn't have anything that I could see that would even be able to re-take it. So, my best guess is that city is toast come T124. Actually, I think he said so long as it survived last turn then he can whip a X-bow so he might be able to draw some blood. Here's to hoping.

Seven to me:
Quote:Hey, can you keep a secret?

Seven

Me to him:
Quote:Of course I can keep a secret. What secret am I going to keep?

Shak-lete

Him to me:
Quote:I am very strongly considering ignoring land military a bit and teching Optics-Astronomy right now. I'm maybe 20 turns out. Do Berserkers in Galleons sound as fun to you as they do to me? I'd be happy to do some unit trades, and then we'd each be able to take one opponent by complete surprise.

Seven

Me to him:
Quote:That sounds like a fantastic idea. I'm about 6 turns from Civil Service and I should have Machinery in 2. That will give me lots of time to build Beserkers!

Shak-lete

So with the game pretty much in Seven's hands, this should really allow us to have some fun at the expense of others. Even if Seven's lead is insurmountable, I can be proud that I've worked myself back into this one and should achieve a strong 2nd place finish - barring any course of smoke mistakes that is.
