Gotta say Tasunke panic claiming a power-role 9 or so hrs before deadline feels in character judging by his last game, where he fired his one-shot power Day 1 in a panic when he didn't need to. Personally I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt for this Day - it's more in character again, like I just said, and what happens in the Night now he's done his reveal might be very informative
![]() So, putting my money where my mouth is, I'll shift my vote to Commodore. I could go for him or Sareln for fairly similar reasons, both made a vote that looked like a joke or random vote early on, then kinda said "yeah, I like my vote where it is" later without acknowledgement that it was initially presented as "X just because". Why Commodore instead of Sareln? Well, Commodore has traction & I'm not sure on the wisdom of bringing something new to the table when I'm coming to the end of my more active forum-use time of the day (different attitude to yesterday, because we're later in the game Day and I won't be here at lynch). And I'm not fond of the reasoning of someone being "least bad mislynch", particularly not fond of the way Commodore presented it here. It feels like pre-emptively giving an excuse for a mis-lynch. Re: The Rowain thing coz that's the other biggy this afternoon. I can see Zakalwe's point but I don't agree with it enough to vote on it, it sits in the "maybe interesting later" bucket for me, and the case has moved on anyway to things I'm less sure I agree with. The point I think I see is that we have the addition of the Village PM to the first post, with a post from NH that kinda implies someone asked for it and we've all seen how Rowain reacts when he thinks the GM has set a trap for him (the odd name out thing in the FFH WW game). So the idea that Rowain was the asker kinda makes sense. But it's not the only possibility by a long shot (I started to write out a few, but I figure we can all work out the hypotheticals ourselves and this post is wordy enough as it is). And the case since Zakalwe's original posts on the subject has moved onto how Rowain should be angrier or shouldn't be using rhetorical questions, and that sits a bit less well with me. I'm not seeing the lack of slap-down, and Serdoa slapping at someone for rhetorical questions when he himself is being slapped at for them is kinda ironic ![]()

Serdoa did a pretty good job of verbalizing some of my unspoken thoughts on Rowain a couple of pages back. My case against him wasn't very strong to start with, but I thought it would be just like Rowain to go yelling at the mod, prompting him to post the villager PM. So I figured I would poke Rowain and see how he responded. Evidently, he felt very pressured by this, couldn't muster a better defense than "really zak?", and generally seemed very unsure how to react, as if he's afraid to lock horns with me.
He then decided to defend by saying I'm acting strangely, and suggesting I was going after him to deflect attention from MNG, which is just extremely illogical if you look at the voting history. (Why would I switch off Tasunke in that case?) So... avoid confrontation, but undermine my credibility. Sound familiar? (Same thing Ichabod did last game.) And when Serdoa joins in, there is more of the same: Rowain Wrote:I missed you Serdoa :wink2: and your inpregnable logic. As I remember it worked so well in WW7 Rowain Wrote:@our venerable GM.Also... this little snippet may obviously be interpreted in many ways, but I see sarcasm, and a touch of annoyance with the GM seeping through. If you know what I mean.
As tempting as a Commodore lynch is, I'm having a hard time imagining a wolf pack that hasn't been screaming at him to do something useful by now. I suppose it's possible he's been busy, but he probably would have said so by now. I'll stick with my guns on BS methodology (if I understand zakalwe's moniker correctly), meaning he's less likely to be a wolf. And if this is the par for his play this game, he should prove quite easy to catch. Commodore, voting someone solely with the argument of "I think he's a bad player" after 36h of discussions to evaluate is pretty poor play IMO.
I'm inclined to believe Tasunke's claim, both about his role and being busy. I think Serdoa's line of investigation against Rowain is interesting.
One caveat to Catwalk's latest post, I generally agree with the thought that its hard to imagine Commodore and/or Molach being wolves given their lack of contribution. You can be quiet, but at some point your pack buddies will say "Hey, get your ass in the game." So I agree with all that. Still, you have to be aware we could be playing with 2 packs and one of the packs could be newbie/newbie/quiet player. The pack dynamic is strongly tied to the personality of its leader. So I wouldn't clear either of those two based on that.
At this point I'm inclined to give them both another day to contribute. ![]() I'm cool with lynching either Commodore, Rowain or MNG.
“The wind went mute and the trees in the forest stood still. It was time for the last tale.”
![]() But I also like the courtesy of not lynching new players on Day 1. Which has nothing to do with the fact that I'm a new player, of course ![]() I think I missed the Rowain train. It looks like that argument is based off of how he's acted in past games and I have no frame of reference there. We do seem to have a lot of vets suspicious of him, though, although Lewwyn just said he's been lynched Day 1 before. And the vets are also saying that MNG is just doing his normal flailing around, but some say his flailing is more wolfish than usual. My gut agrees, so I'm going to switch my vote to Mr. Nice Guy

Commodore: you are currently less useful than Catwalk, so why should we not lynch YOU following your own reasoning?
Pling: yeah the panic claim from Tas is somewhat townish. It's still incredibly annoying that people do this. Also Tas knows that people perceived him as village due to his panic-claim in the last game, so if he's a wolf he might have tried to exploit that. This overall weakens the read. overall not really a good lynch for today though due to potential night confirmation etc Zakalwe: I see why wolves would have asked for the village PM to be published, but concluding that it was Rowain based on meta seems like stretching it to me. |
