Dreylin's latest post is hilarious
(May 24th, 2016, 22:57)Dreylin Wrote: Q: so what's up with all this whipping over the past few turns?
A: well I'm just trying to sandbag our score back below REM's so that no-one thinks we're a threat!
Q: but you didn't manage that:
*Picture showing Dreylin having the highest score of anyone*
A: Damnit! I'm sure I can find a few more whippable cities, just let me.....
Q: that's as may be, but what about this:
*Graph of extended power spike*
A: well you see....
Q: and this:
*Chart showing every city, sans one, is building military*
A: Alright! I need to test the hypothesis of "quantity vs. quality" for myself!

Things are about to heat up quickly... Dreylin attacks DZ, REM is considering poaching Dreylin when that occurs, and scooter is about to go 100% military builds, perhaps dogpiling Dreylin not knowing how all in REM plans on going. All this perhaps saves a cippled DZ who is now doing everything he can to stay alive and annoy Dreylin for the rest of the game.
And surely pindicator and BGN will make a move if that chaos erupts.

...civ4 has bombarding zeppelins as a defining unit of Industrial warfare? Did someone on the design team read too much steampunk fanfic?

I thought Airships were a joke, until I built one.

Timmy, your last post is rigging things. You're asking Scooter for more detail and contingency on their military buildup, which might imply that they have to change their plans. Regardless of the fact that Scooter is in no imminent danger, you're alluding to the possibility that they would have to accelerate production, which could mean any number of things to Scooter—not just a question about the priority of Fascism.

I don't feel like that post was questionable, since Sullla just said "hey let's fight sooner" and then scooters response was "research!" so it's confusing, and isn't bringing up and ideas that one of them didn't just state.

It seems like Scooter is just following the last discussed plan. Sullla said let's fight ASAP but there was no plan associated to abandon Fascism and get the GG points by fighting Donovan. Possibly a consequence of just finding out about Dreylin's war plans shortly before they had to play themselves - no time to really talk it over.

I'm paranoid after Scooter commented on post coincidences across threads during their Pentagon construction effort, so I didn't take into account that accelerating the military economy was already on their mind. I was concerned that Timmy may have been implying an attack, but now I see that Scooter probably doesn't think that is a likely possibility.

Hey TBS, if you're still reading - it might be a good idea to post your proposed special modern-era turnsplit rules in the tech thread soon... people seem incredibly jumpy about peacetime "double moves" in this game, far more than normal, it feels.

Brick's the dictator here, it should probably come from him.
For reference:
Quote: Turnsplit should go 1-2-1 in the modern era. In the 1st players 'second turn' he's allowed to micro his cities and workers but move no other units.
The objective is to minimise the advantage of the 2nd player air-pillaging improvements/resources and then the turn rolling before player 1 can fix things. REM brought up the issue earlier in his thread and asked the lurkers to discuss.
