Oh is this confirmed? I have vague memories of this happening with techs/boosts in a game, lost a lot of overflow (used gallileo for 1000 or 1250, should have completed multiple older boosted techs on consecutive turns, but getting a boost wiped it out on the 2nd turn). If so maybe should go in the expanded civilopedia?

Yep....

Also of note is that pillaging yields also "overwrite" the overflow.

Just want to throw out there that I thought the peace treaty timing would backfire pretty hard for Sullla, and that I was quite wrong on that. Indeed, it seems to have worked out pretty well for him. Cornflakes's has held Woden off just long enough it seems to guarantee Sullla Heart of Darkness. And in the meantime, Rome's position has been strengthened by the addition of Faith-bought Chinese units on the front.
It will be interesting to see the eventual clash between Rome/China and England/Nubia. Hard to say who has an edge in that at present.
In the background of this all though, the cossack clock ticks closer to midnight. Archduke and Emperor will be hard-pressed to decide who to attack, the builder of the VA (CMF) or the destroyer of Seoul (Sullla).

I really want to get into a game this summer, sometime in May/June, although at this point with the expansion and the high level play being displayed in some of the more recent games, I'm concerned I'm a bit behind the curve at this point

So if Emperor K is Ozymandias, who's Rorschach?

Looks like Russo-Germany allied Anglo-Nubia. Does this spell the end for Romano-China?

So I have a question about the alliance. Afaik defensive pacts don't come into play yet, which would mean this alliance is a meta gaming signal? I.e. AD/EK are signaling CMF/Woden they want to team up on SB/Sullla?

At this point the alliance serves the concrete purposes of:
1. An effective DoF extension for one team that wants to farm and another who is warring with it's other neighbor right now.
2. Diplomatic Service Inspirations
It does open the door to future cooperation, but that does not seem to be the primary purpose. Both teams perceive that Sullla and Singaboy have the strongest economic indicators, and are attempting to preclude being on the wrong end of a 2v1 by aligning with each other, but neither seems to be thinking about it in terms of a hard committment yet. The million dollar question is where the cossacks go.
CMF is about to complete the VA, which will in turn make Archduke much more likely to want to target Nubia/England. However, right after that Sullla is planning on taking Seoul, which I think will very firmly push Germany and Russia into the England/Nubia camp. Sullla and Singaboy should seriously consider leaving Seoul alone, doing so forces a greater wedge between Germany/Russia and Nubia/England.
We shall see what happens

I didn't think about the boost! a small but concrete plus.

What's interesting is Archduke seemed to offer the alliance in an attempt to ensure Sullla doesn't take too much of the Kongo/Khmer continent. This would indicate he saw Sullla/SB as the significantly greater threat, pre-VA, and is assuming his own team can overtake CMF/Woden in time. He seems to be unsure which is a greater threat, a VA CMF/Woden or a non-VA Sullla/SB.
CMF on the other hand, thought an alliance was a defensive pact.

We shall see what happens You think leaving Seoul would create a wedge between those two teams because CMF/Woden don't have the economies to compete if Archduke keeps getting the suzerain bonus? or are you also including the psychological/metagaming aspect of Archduke feeling attacked by SB/Sullla?
