Unfortunately, I believe a lot rides on the ability for someone to figure out a solution because, at least for myself, the current situation will become untenable quickly and only get worse as time to play turns lengthens.
if yuri doesn't play in the next couple of hours (it's 9 pm EDT now), I'm going to need at least a short pause, cause I'll be going to sleep and won;t be able to play until tomorrow morning.

Paused the game. While we're still sorting out this multiple player connection issue, it seems fair to allow extra time for players to finish their turns due to all the blocked periods. That, and I'm unwilling to play for 10 nations in a single turn at this point of the game.
 I'd also advise everyone to minimize their use of diplo windows as much as possible during this period, since anyone encountering one during a pause will be forced to crash out of the game (as no-one can connect to them to unpause). I'll check back in 12 hours or so if there are still any unfinished turns.
I'm having trouble clearing a diplo window. I've tried logging in, cancelling, crashing, logging back in, the same trade window keeps popping up. Can someone unpause for me? I'm out now.
