[Game Thread] WW49: Wizards and Werewolves

ALSO IN AUSTRALIA NEWS! Melbourne just lifted its COVID lockdown after three months basically stuck in our homes. I feel very relieved, but rest assured I will still be focused on the game even if I am doing it from my phone in a park!

Nice to read that, enjoy the sun Gazglum. smile

Adrien, if I interpret Rowains latest post correctly, are you from France? Maybe we two do communicate quite differently, I know that I had my issues with co-workers from France (and they with me). Anyhow, I do agree with you that there are too many people not playing at all, either by simply not posting or by just doing RP.

I'd also like to say that I find thrawns play ... awkward. But that is not something I normally attribute to wolves. A player being wolf might bumble around a bit or might find himself having a hard time making cases - but thrawn isn't doing any of that to begin with. I don't give much credence to the notion that "wolves would have taught him by now" (because that's not what happened in most of our games), but I would expect that they would have told him to at least make any comment towards any of the cases.

I'm headed to a meeting and I will have several more over the next few hours, but I try to make a list of all players and what I think of them in between somehow. Currently I heavily lean towards voting for one of those that have not shown up or have not participated meaningfully. I would also like to point out that I can agree with parts of what Rowain is upset about with novice, I do understand novice partly as well though. I'll try to be more specific after the meeting.

I have 2 major grievances on my government, one is not being more forceful on making companies have their employees work from home more (many companies are being completely irresponsible in that regard) and not preparing anything for schools and universities. As a teacher I can guarantee that we've waited the entire summer for the ministry to take measures, and we ended up in september with everything being as usual except for masks. I'm livid when I compare it to how Italy and Spain (among others) have prepared their schools for covid. And now almost half of known clusters are in schools or universities...

Sorry for the distraction from WW, I'm just very angry at this.

Yep. Perhaps there's something to that, IDK.

That is how your exchange comes off for me atleast.

Yeah, as I said in post 175, even though I was annoyed by his attacks I don't think it makes Serdoa scum

I don't have much longer before bed, and the day has petered out a little bit.

Running through the player list, I have felt pretty good about Milady Mugumin, Ser-Doa, Ser Tarkeel, and Ser Adrien's play. Ser Pindicator has a grand total of one serious post, but I agreed with some of what he said there. Particularly that Rowain went from very relaxed and jokey to very defensive as soon as he got pressure.

Lord Momonga (Superdeath) has given minimal thoughts today, but clearly better than some of the other players so I'm not inclined to vote him.

Novice and Ser Lewwyn I was initially neutral on, but I've agreed with their questioning of Rowain. If Rowain is innocent then Novice maybe looks opportunistic.

As I said, Rowain feels different to his last game. My problem with his day is that he keeps jumping on people who question him, claiming that they are doing it in bad faith. But I get no sense of any coherent game view from it. Are Lewwyn, Novice both scum playing a 'get Rowain' gambit? I've read his arguments that Lewwyn was only focused on him, and I don't think it's accurate. And when he changes his vote, he's not explaining if he still thinks Serdoa/Lewwyn are suspicious, or if he's okay with them now. His play just seems really reactive.

The downside about voting Rowain is that I'm pretty sure the same dynamic played out like 2 games ago, and he was innocent there.

I would vote Rowain or Ser Thrawn. Ser Thrawn and Ser Savant have both offered absolutely nothing, but Ser Savant being completely absent suggests it might be a real-life time issue, also I have sworn not to vote him. Ser Thrawn has been here and has refused to get involved. I would feel bad because Thrawn was voted off Day 1 last time, but then, he was bad last time he was floundering too.

I think I remember seeing that serdoa is Austrian? It is a cliché, but French and German speaking cultures often talk past each other. For what it's worth, I'm Scandinavian.

Rowain, you may be right abotu Lewwyn or Novice, but if you are wrong and they are both innocently pressuring you, how do see the day as playing out then?

thumbsup yet you still talk about the difference. Last game I could point to thrawn and question others. This game as soon as I started to point to Serdoa Lewwyn jumped in and now novice is opportunistic fanning the flames.

You should look how the action came to pass before you hand out towntells all around.

I'm sure that I'm being fooled somewhere in my town leans, I'm just saying that they've all played well enough that I wouldn't vote them today.

a) I'm absolutely convinced that at least one of them is scum. My leaning would be novice but YMMV.

b) Besides that there was little else going on except the short Adrien-Serdoa clash which seems to peter out. Just assume that both Lewwyn and novice knew how I would react when they repeat the same smut over and over again.
D4ay 1 has several people not playing. That you consider pindi with 1 post as town just because he agrees with your vote is marvelous. Perhaps in future everyone looks whom you vote for and bingo everyone is town.

So what do we learn as soon as I'm lynched and revealed as player? Nothing at all. A wasted day. Both Lewwyn and novice know me well enough to avoid it. They know how I react if they post the same smut again and again. As you said WW 46 is not so long ago.

To make it clear No problem with them disagreeing on my Serdoa-vote. No problem with Lewwyn voting for me - But the constant regurgitating of the same in several posts is BS.

Look how novice did it above.
