You see, this game is just a big metaphor. We aren't really attacking and conquering hapless neighbours. We are just fighting against Musashi's inner weaknesses, in order to become a whole human being. Slow is Musashi's aggressiveness, WLP is Musashi's greed, plako is Musashi's temerity and so on.
So, queue more axes, swords and catapults! Uh, I mean, meditation, fasts and study.

This. Tried to look at the map earlier, but with the server being down...oh well.

That's hilarious that Pindicooter spawned next to Commodore.
dtay's aptly named west city is interesting. Seems like a helluva reach for where he is.
All in all, things look really good. 8+% of world pop in a 17 player game with more room to go. There's that gold spot and some filler cities, but the time to relieve Slow of his cities draws near.

These are the demos with our empire at 100% gold. They look pretty good. I took a look at other starts and I think we had one of the best. FinHarry also have a good one, shown below:
Triple silver, though one of them was surely popped (it's on a grass hill). They also had access to easy gold and food:
It's understandable why they are doing so nice. I think they have the same level of civskills than me. I wonder what the top players would have accomplished with my start...
Seriously, I'm heart-broken because of some of my stupid plays. That city settled near WLP... That was too dumb and wetbandit told me that, albeit in a more gentle way. I persevered with my stupidity, without giving a second thought about the situation. I have to learn not to be oblivious when playing Civ... C'mon I don't even now which wonders and religions already fallen on the game... It's like I'm a slowpoke... I could be in a dominant position, I think, if I had been more careful and planned things a bit more. Even with all my mistakes, my start allowed me to be in pretty good shape right now.
---
By the way, FinHarry offered fish for fish, which I think is a gesture of "let's be friends". I accepted and I'm pretty okay with that. FinHarry don't have graphs on us, so they probably think we aren't in such a good position, since our score is low. Fine by me!
---
Score lies, I think. Look at dtay's empire, the leader of the scoreboard.
Size 5 Capital, lot of small cities. I wonder what's buffing his score... (pun intended). But the worst part was pointed out by wetbandit:
Seriously, this city is the worst pink dot I have ever seen. Why on Earth did he do that? Take a look at the minimap in the picture above and where this city is. It's completely indefensible and settled right into Slow's face, taking his food away... What was dtay thinking? Hopefully Slow sees this as a big insult and goes for the kill, which will probably make my job of taking him out easier. Well, if he doesn't kill that city, I most surely will.

MoK working on a GSci, due in 8 turns. I think we complete Construction and we save gold on the other turns until we have an academy on DP. Or we could save a huge amount of gold until we have the academy and burn it on some techs. Can we wait ~10 turns for construction? We could build axes/spears/swords in the meantime, but I'm not sure it's worth the delay. I'll try to make a more elaborate plan...

I know this posts are annoying, but are people still reading this? Is there anything I could do to make the thread more interesting? I know Musashi is striving to overcome Vanity, but a little lurker comment here and there certainly ups the update morale. Thanks, Rowain, by the way.

I'm reading your thread Ichabod. I'm more of a Taiko fan than Musashi though. Musashi just never ended...
What are your 30 turn goals?

dtay's city could flip, provided that sort of thing can happen over water, which would be absolutely hilarious.
I'd say construction sooner is better. Taking Slow's cities sooner will accelerate growth more than 100% science for a few turns.
You know, I could always go back to writing terrible haikus to draw lurker ire attention.
