Looks like you're playing a pretty solid game so far, Kuro thumbsup

What were the odds to win on the spear vs axe. Looks like the RNG gods blessed us here. Also a demo's pic would be nice to look at it.

It was something like 22.3%, actually.

Looks like you're hurting a bit in the demos. What's your plan for catching up?

I think we might have to run a farmers gambit now since Wetbandit forced us into building extra units.

I haven't been following this game turn by turn at all; the other games I'm in are already putting me on the edge of burnout sometimes. Plus I don't have a good personality for being a team player, I tend to get possessive and want to control everything. rolf So sorry for basically checking out.

Getting peace is a big victory! I'm not a fan of ancient war, but this map made it inevitable simply with the starting locations. It would be so even if Bandit weren't Egypt. The only way it wouldn't have happened is if two close neighbors respected each others' observation and skills enough to know that it wasn't going to make the game more interesting or fun for either in the end. And how do you get that level of respect? By successfully defending an ancient war, you get it in future games, perhaps?

Both you and Bandit are behind the rest of the world now, obviously. If me, I probably look at the game forward as a duel. I don't think you can adopt some strategy that will fail if he decides to attack again - he will, if there is anything to be gained from it. (And maybe if there isn't...) It also doesn't mean the best strategy is going for a large counterattack - the defender always has an advantage if he's paying attention, after all. I think you're probably already doing this, but ideally you're watching everything you can about Bandit like a hawk - which cities he's whipping, what is he building going by the power graph, scouting his borders, following every score move and inferring what techs he gets and when, things like that.

How are you enjoying this game, out of curiousity? I saw on another forum that you play chess, maybe this kind of game is up your alley? With it being about tactics and reason if he does X then Y?
