FYI scooter - everything is set up to hit that cuir stack by the pic you posted. The cannon and units on Gimpy can unload inside either Raptors (Kid Dinosaur) or Sharks (Hiram), and the two workers can road to the cuirs. Then the 3 galleons full of amphibious Grens can also hit the tile that they're on.

I think they are comparing the foreign diplomacy similarities between Scooter and Mr. Putin.

I don't want to derail this into politics, but I'll risk it for a couple comments on the Obama side:
- Obama's always playing the long game.
- Obama's MO from the 2008 campaign on has always been to completely ignore problems that he doesn't think matters, to keep a singular focus on the big prizes. So whether or not Putin seems to be "winning" currently doesn't bother him one whit; it's whether or not this is a medium- and long-term gain for the US and/or the international community and/or Ukraine, depending on what he thinks is a priority.

And we spent last night talking about counter attacks, and how to position galleons and troops to counter, not peace deals where we roll over.
You know what, I'm done. I just can't do this Jeckyl and Hyde stuff anymore.
I really don't know what to say. No, I'm very obviously not offering him more than he was asking. He was asking for a defensive pact, which would tie our hands and means nothing whatsoever. This is for a 10T peace treaty, which is way more valuable to us. I think there's almost no chance he accepts it. 10T is probably enough to lift about 8 cities off Bigger. That's mack's nightmare. We've definitely talked about trading a couple cities for 10T of peace and how we needed to counter-offer his defense pact with something that got us 10T of peace. I really don't know where this disconnect is coming from.
Anyway, my energy for this game with stuff like this has been dropping drastically for awhile, and now it's basically gone. If you still enjoy it and want to play it out solo, I'll resign and let you do what you want. Otherwise I'll just play it out, mail it in, and probably be done reporting.

Please don't do that; we're in far too strong a position to be mailing it in.

Yeah, this is like approaching the biggest climax of the biggest game on the site! Totally understand if you want to dial back the reporting for a bit, but there's a lot of love for you on these boards and it would be great to see the final showdown when it comes!

Games are for the players rather than the lurkers, so do what you have to for your enjoyment of the game first and foremost, but this game is among the most exciting RB has ever seen, imo, and you guys are the reason why, so I hope you'll take a day and reconsider.

That post of mine was unnecessarily dramatic. I'm not planning on quitting.
As a brief housekeeping explanation, pindicator decided he is just going to step down and I'll continue solo. That just seems to be in the best interest of both of us that one of us step down. We just have pretty different view on the state of the game and how to best play it out from here (pretty normal/reasonable really, there are multiple valid routes to go here), and so there's not a lot of point in us playing strategic tug of war. He's been a fantastic teammate all the way through this game and including our last game (PB8), and I'm pretty certain he's going to clean up in PB18.
Onward! Well, whenever mackoti ends his turn that is.
