After the Settler, Jubilee should be able to knock out the infrastructure I need: Elder Council, the temples, maybe even a Granary. The production bonus will help with that. Oh, and a bunch of Freaks and a Market with Festivals. Are Carnivals really worth building when I'm not Creative? I think no. I won't need the Happiness bonus right now, and the bonus to culture won't really do much of anything. I don't think I need a Bard, either.
Re education, Aristocracy and cottages don't match really. What you need for Aristo is Agrarianism and lots of grass farms. I'd usually go for either Priesthood, one of the later religions (e.g. Ashen Veil) or ramp up the magely techs at that stage. I'd be looking to see which gave the best avenue for attack.
After that work the economy techs and then get more advanced units to finish off. Of course I've only one FfH/EitB MP game under my belt so it may be better to emphasise the economy earlier.

Well, when I said cottages and Aristocracy, I meant that I want to have one city on cottages early, and everything else on farms. Logic being that eventually I'll switch out of Aristocracy and it'd be nice to have at least one source of income that won't crash on me while I switch to something else. I'd probably emphasize economy earlier, personally, but we'll see. If I'm still in Aristocracy, I might want Sanitation for +1 food farms, yeah?

Well you want it anyway. But yes Aristo makes it especially imperative.

I built it in FFH III. And I was damned glad I did. WW was an absolute bear in that game and I needed every scrap of WW reduction I could get. +20 WW unhappy in your capital sucks.
The Free Sentry 1 is a red herring. It's the free dungeon in every city that makes the wonder worth considering.

So what does this event do? Also, someone already has their Great Sage. Hrm. In 4 more turns I should have a nice commerce boost, though, as Coombe View will be at size 3 and the gold and gem mines will both finish.

"+1 events have made us like you better" with all the other players. In other words, nothing in MP.

Nonsense. Clearly gtAngel will be more receptive to my overtures for an alliance now! :P
Though speaking of gtAngel, I have yet to hear back in diplo, so I wonder if something is up.... I should probably follow up at some point, but eh. Eh.

Nothing to report except a 3rd goblin spawning in the fort. I'd expect at least one or two of them to move out and attack now, but I have 2 Warriors guarding the Worker on the gems hill, and if they move towards my city, they end up on a desert tile and incur the defense penalty, so either way, I should be OK.
I think I'll have my 2 workers at the capital work on a road to city spot 3 so that the Settler can reach its spot in one turn.

Forgot to note this the other day. So gtAngel already has Education and Code of Laws. I hope that this simply represents a different priority in techs, rather than him being outright ahead. Of course, his GNP got an awful large boost from that, so I suppose it is likely to push him ahead because he got it early.... I'm actually not sure if my gold/gems town can hold its own against a strong Agristocracy economy.
I don't have an awful lot of farms myself right now (maybe 4-5 that can be worked), but that would still be 8-10 commerce. Shruuuuug? I wonder if it would be wiser to delay military techs in order to get Education and Code of Laws faster, or if I shouldn't worry because I'm getting Kilmorph early and that should shore up my econ.
Meanwhile, I wait for today's turn....

Turn 50 (TL) update!
The advance guard encounters bears! My rough calculations give my guys a 50% chance to not die. I hope the coin flip goes in my favor. Obviously.
This is demographics at the end of turn, with both Gems and Gold online and being worked. Coombe View doesn't add much to my crop yield, but at least it nearly puts me on par for GNP. Not much else in the stats to speak for me, though.
Ta-da? I probably should have had something more exciting planned for the 50th, but it wasn't a particularly astounding turn (aside from Gems and Gold!) and I've had a long day.
