Pitboss 18 IT and Tech Issues Thread

I got confused and logged in, but I guess there was the reload, sooooo.... I didn't actually do anything besides look around.
I'm just doing my best out here.

The server had crashed completely again, and I can't find any reasonable explanation except for a file corruption issue. I have reloaded the game to the turn autosave, which means everyone needs to replay the turn.

The Black Sword & Cheater Hater: This is a shot in the dark, but could you guys try to login without spaces in your nicks (e.g. as TBS & CH or something similar)? I noticed you guys have both the longest nicks and you've both got spaces in there. This is really a shot in the dark, but since we've had issues twice now when TBS has attempted to play his turn, and I did get a specific error stating that the Pitboss couldn't create the savegame file for TBS the last time he logged in, I think it's worth checking out.

Please do keep in mind though guys that we are way out of bounds for what the Pitboss experience was meant to be with this game. I have never had this much technical issues with a single Pitboss ever (except when I had the harddisk failure, but I am convinced a hardware failure is definitely not the case here, especially since the other Pitbosses rarely have issues like PB18 has). I won't take the game down unless these crashes become a daily affair (or close to daily), so we will go on, but please don't get too frustrated by all these issues, as they're definitely related to us stretching the Pitboss experience to the very extreme.

Oh, and German Joey too please, in addition to the abovementioned nicks.

Blargh...and this was a really long turn for me with a huge amount of complex combat stuff I'll have to replay. And doubt I'll even be able to do it in the same order. Because of this, I won't get to it until tomorrow night after I get home from volleyball...which will be around 9pm EST.

I am really sorry about that frown

Not complaining to you as it's not your fault and nothing you could do about it. Mostly just letting the other person involved know. I am able to start the turn right now, and will attempt to finish it in between getting ready to leave for work.

EDIT: Turn has been finished...and second statement removed.

HAK, your second paragraph is a bit spoilery. Doesn't worry me personally, but others might take exception to it.

To those (if any) waiting for me to (re)play, I'm done. Just a bit of city management left, which I'll try to remember and redo later. But all units are moved.
I have to run.
