WW16: The Outlaws and The Olives

Another note about Rowain - on night 1 he was eager to start analyzing the late day 1 voters, which seemed very helpful at the time. At this point it seems like focusing on late voters was mostly a red herring though.

Lewwyn Wrote:If reading Day 1 Rowain gives your wolf vibes, what about today? I don't think he's been wolfy, but he did wait till late to place his vote, I think. I think that usually is a sign of someone waiting to see how the water is before making any sudden moves, but again not necessarily scummy.

Rowain on day 4 was notable for two things. During the first Mattimeo push he did some analysis that came across as very villagery. Rereading it now his conclusion was:

Rowain Wrote:Part2

Befoer a short comment as I saw just novices post with the votes: Overdone vote-alyzing was what did cost the village WW14.
Nevertheless to continue: Day 1:
5 hours before lynch thestick is in the lead with 4 votes.
Then the Mattimeo-BW starts to run started by Serdoa (villager) comment he would vote Mattimeo do note that he votes thestick with that post. followed by uberfish(villager) that he would vote Mattimeo over thestick.

Then followed the first real vote: from pindicator then Sareln,Serdoa, uberfish (all 3 vill) and lastly TT.

Now we have 3 possiblities: a) Mattimeo is a fraud and we really had 2 wolves under the 3 topsuspects.
b) Mattimeo is real and pindicator used the comments from uber and Serdoa to make a run to save thestick. His later actions do support that (unvote, thestick, move to Merovech)
c) pindi is a villager but Matt is too are we really to believe that wolves sat on their hands happily lynching thestick? If no then of course TT is a wolf.

So to answer your question novice:
Yes pind is still high on my list: I would also be ok with a Tasunke and TT-lynch. Ichabod and Azza are currently second tier for me. And Mattimeo is a special case.

He offers three options, only one of which involves Mattimeo being a wolf, and chooses to focus on Pindicator. So this could be a crafty attempt to deflect from Mattimeo while maintaining deniability, but I doubt it.

The other thing Rowain did on day 4 was to help lynch Mattimeo, he brought the vote to 6 on Mattimeo and 7 on Qqqq. This was his justification:

Rowain Wrote:In short now show us how truly you want to lynch Mattimeo

So I don't know, it could perhaps be read as trying to intimidate someone into backing off Mattimeo, but that feels far-fetched too.

So I think Rowain gains quite a lot of village cred for day 4. Which is a shame, in a way, because it brings him back to the grey zone where I have too many suspects at the moment.

Gaspar made a good point about the atmosphere after the Mattimeo lynch being exuberant. Rowain gave off this vibe too when I reread the day 4 lynch briefly just now. Pindicator not so much, according to Gaspar.

I would be okay with lynching Rowain, Pindicator and Tasunke. The first two would provide some information, and honestly Tasunke is not the worst lynch as mislynches go. They're also interlinked - Pindicator flipping scum would earn Rowain more village cred due to day 2, and IIRC Pindicator was also throwing suspicion on Tasunke on day 1.

I feel that these three are more likely than the rest of the players to be a wolf, but there's a very real possibility of a mislynch for all of them.

It might be a good idea to put Jkaen under the magnifying glass.

I'm concerned that Azza keeps getting a free pass on account of there not being much to pin on him. If he can keep lurking unchecked like this, we'll never get anything out of him. What little he has said and done has all the markings of alibi voting, with minimal interest in actually investigating the guilt of his targets. When accused, his responses are "lynching me means the mafia get to live another day" and "I'm going to bed now, please don't kill me". At the very least, can we agree that his behaviour is strongly anti-town and should change? If we force him to contribute more, he will have to maneuver a little more carefully (if he's scum), and we'll have a greater chance of pinning stuff on him.

Novice, you're stretching on that "contradiction" of mine. Stop it with the confirmation bias; you're reading everything I do as being scummy - if it takes me flipping village to knock that into your head then so be it. You want to read day 4 where I'm the one to point out injera & qgqqqqq have in fact mixed up their roles and have different roles? I bet you'll find a way to twist that as being scummy too.

When did I defend tasunke day 1? I don't recall it and I can't find it in my notes. Now you're making data up wholesale to support your arguments. Facts before conclusions, not the other way around!

Still staying on catwalk. Would love to hear some specific reasons why you've fallen in love with him as village. Did you re-read the end of day 1? At least TT did. (Hey twinkletoes, I'm back in your camp! jive ) Same goes for Rowain now - I will bet that at least one of rowain / catwalk is scum. Both of them were the people actively defending BOTH mattimeo & thestick at the end of day 1.

At least you're no longer blindly putting jkaen in the village camp...

If you're gonna keep ignoring my stuff, then just lynch me to get your "information" and so i can get away from your arrogance. Spoiler alert: i'm a villager.

Novice,

I think you might be giving Rowain a bit too much credit for the Mattimeo lynch.

I read that post of "In short now show us how truly you want to lynch Mattimeo" as trying to press my buttons.

Typically, when someone pushes me hard like that, I push back just as hard. When the Mattimeo wagon got going, I was one of the most vocal critics and I think he was hoping as much as anything that I was going to go the other way in response to the goading.

I don't think he did much special in regards to the lynch, so for you to single him out for praise on it is misguided IMO

Yes I would like Azza to contribute more, hence my vote on him earlier to try and call him out a bit.

However, there's no point lynching him right now. Its a crapshoot that gives us nothing.

Right now, I think I'd like to lynch you catwalk as you were one of the most active on day one in trying to move votes away from Mattimeo and thestick, jumped very late back onto Bigger when it got close and I think posts like this are similar to those early days, trying to move attention away from those on the block.

If that can't happen, I would take a lynch on Rowain or (at a stretch) Pindicator, for information purposes

I push you because you've done a lot of scummy stuff. Not my fault. But I had not noticed you pointing out the role mixup - thanks for pointing it out to me.

Sorry, I got too worked up and didn't read that Tasunke bit right. I'm just sick and tired of defending day 1. I've been defending day 1 since day 1 ended - almost two weeks ago. And when I defend it feels like we get somewhere and it feels like you agree with what I say, but then the next day the accusations come in all over again like i never said a word. So to me it's like nobody's paying attention to my observations (except you, TT! Twinkletoes for mayor!), and why should I bother making any effort if nobody is going to pay attention?

(And no, I don't seriously expect everybody to follow me onto TT for mayor; but I'm showing my support to the person who at least acknowledges my points in thread.)
