I'm guessing that might be directed at me. I'd prefer to pass. The offline-PBEM format takes up too much time for me, I end up thinking about the games all the time. (Especially that Carcassone H&G game where I took a big lead early, then saw it almost slip away while getting a long sequence of useless river segments.) And we know from months of St Petersburg experience that we can only flip two turns a day at most between that player set.

If we can work out time zones for a live game, I'm all for that, but I don't think that really works for our player set...?

Seems you guys are having quite a bit of fun with this. Any chance of editting the front post to give an overview of where and what you are playing along with any comments/mini reviews?

Not necessarily; anyone is invited to join. But I admit I had secretly hoped you would sign up. wink

I'm thinking a lot about the games as well while sitting in the bus, waiting for my wife or my daughter, waiting for my boss to finish one of his monologues in a meeting...but isn't that half the fun? smile I enjoy that a lot!

Unfortunately, yes. Although I have the feeling that the first game went along faster? Not sure why, and I could be wrong.

I'm still planning to try to organize something like that on one of the Sundays after the next.

Heh. It was fun for a while but I'm getting tired of it now. I catch myself logging on to Yucata several times a day when I know it can't possibly be my turn. Especially when I keep falling just short of winning St Petersburg like is going to happen this time again. (Although now I'm not sure you gained by cutting the game short. You have 20 points worth of buildings on the board so you would stand to gain more than me on an extra turn cycle. But you will be ahead anyway.)

I think the first St Petersburg went a hair faster because we had a few weekend days where we cycled 4-5 turns. It never went more than 2 turns on weekdays.

I'm free all day Sunday 6 March but likely not the 13th.

I like Stone Age and would be happy to be a fourth if you need one.

I'm happy for a 4-p game of Stone Age Kylearan.

T-Hawk: Yes, hopefully I can make a live session. I'm generally free most evenings except Mondays.

Uh, yeah, I try to stop this myself because it makes me feel really silly... rolleye

Really? By my count, you come out 1 point ahead if you get two more nobles out. Damn! I blame this to bad luck: Getting only 2 different nobles out of 4 was...ugh.

I wouldn't have that many blue buildings out if I had allowed the game to last longer, and you will get more nobles out per turn than me. My reasoning was that being behind in nobles 4 to 6 is a lot better than being behind 6 to 9 or 6 to 10.

Now in hindsight...maybe I should have let the game run one more round. Not sure though.

Yes, you are right. I count you at 38 + 1 in the nobles round + 10 for four nobles = 49. I will have 25 + 5 in the nobles round + 21 for six nobles = 51. (I will be playing a Controller noble for 1 more point than you figured.) But I could only make that work to win if I got a noble of 10 or 12 cost this round. (Already have 4 and 7 and 14, and could not afford 16.) Fortunately one did come to me.

But I really need sooooo to take the secretary that's currently on board. If you get it (and can afford it), you will win. Or if a noble upgrade comes around to you this round (and you can afford it), you will win.
