If anything, I think we should just keep sending them angry hate mail. We don't want to create the impression that peace will be on the table whenever it suits them. That will just be a further incentive to harass us as much as possible, as long as it doesn't cost them anything. (And so far, they haven't really invested anything into harassing us.)

Btw. shouldn't they have a settler out soon? If so, they must be intending to settle somewhere is our direction, given the positioning of their warriors.

Yeah - sending them angry/silly or whatever messages is totally alright. Luckily lol the areas north from us are terrible to settle so I suspect they take place closer to their capital and possibly towards south-east e.g. near that irrigated Corn and some other goodies in the area.

Well they've forced us to build military and tried to discourage us settling towards them without really investing much themselves, which is a good move for them if they think Pirates are harmless

OTOH we now have a good excuse to grab as much land as possible since they're taking a hostile stance and can't blame us anyway.
