Arise, Riders of Rohanna! Ride for Molach! [SPOILERS!]

Oh, I see. The actual bronze city is pretty good, it can be 4th city alright. Just gotta make sure we have AH by then.

I concur with Ichabod... that bronze city looks like it's going to be a monster, if you can feed and defend it. Does the pool of tears provide fresh water to adjacent spaces? I forget.

Somnium can be a problem. lol

At least you won't need to pay until someone has currency, right?

Or did I understand this wrong?

What was the event about? I don't remember it. What would you gain with the gold, a GEng?

Free sage spec + 3 health.

Probably worth 100 gold, barely, if not for the fail chance.

Weirdly, no.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

I see from another thread that there is a word for something I'm thinking about.

The pyft-war.

gtAngel appearantly has a ironclad time available for play (which, for real life purposes, is probably a good thing). I'd say 3-6 a.m. my time. But with another turn not played tonight, that makes 4 times that we wait around an extra day for the turn due to forgetting to attach or just not playing. I said beforehand that I could only play once a day at evenings, but for these early turns (after I got the hang of entering game and sending off game quickly) I've usually several openings during the day. Not while at work is the only ironclad rule.

A pure pyft-war is not, in my view, neither fun or proper way to play the game, but while the deepest reason for an attack remains purely game-speed related, once that idea has been planted it's pretty easy to find arguments for an attack.
* Sidar has high GnP, low production. So, given time, it will be a very advanced and difficult nut to crack.
* Sidar might have juicy settled GPs in its cities.

However civ doing the actual attacking will put itself at grave risk of a costly campaign leading to, in turn, a DoW from another power. So diplo would have to come to play. Something along "we attack together, we have a NAP during and 10 turns after hostilities cease" and agree roughly about where we end up with our borders. I wish I knew more about the map, though.
This will of course be quite a few turns into the future, at the minimum I'd need an axemen stack, or (preferred) bronzed warriors supported by catapults. (Could be reinforced by bronzed chariots if things drag out).

Something I'm thinking about, while building mighty warriors and workers and settlers...(I think I build worker then yet another settler at capital, Amon builds worker then more army. New city - perhaps Archery range? It needs to grow anyway, and amon can supply warriors - I'm already at support cap). I also think festivals after BW, then AC. Then either construction or do econ with education/myst/CoL.
Or quick AH for the scout and bronzeville. Damn all these techs.
