New EitB PBEM?

I've really enjoyed lurking this and would hate to see it die...so yeah, I'd be willing to sub in for the Amurites. Can play 12-13, 18-23 EST (currently 16-17, 22-03 GMT). However, I've been rather obsessively lurking (especially calabim), so probably not the best choice if there are other options...Ilios?

Well, I will play turns if I receive them but to be honest I'm questioning right now if setting up a new one isn't the better choice. The time-zones in this game are rather difficult to manage in any case and with a sub we most likely look at 2 days / turn, which probably means it is just a matter of time before the game dies.

Obviously I don't want to be the one calling it because I only took over in the first place so you guys could play on and I'm still willing to do that. But I'd rather have this discussed in honest instead of all of us putting more time in for no gain at the end.

It's been two weeks since my last turn. My interest is dropping, and, personally, I don't think this game is salvageable.

Ichabod started this thread, so I guess that means the final ruling is up to him.

I just checked Kyan's profile, and he hasn't logged in since the 12th. I don't think we'll ever see another turn from him; we need to get serious about finding a sub, or just give up. I'd rather avoid a spoiled sub, since I've been pretty explicit about my plans and strategies in my spoiler thread. The longer this goes on, the less enthusiasm I have about the game. If Kyan hasn't posted a password in his thread, the whole sub question might be moot anyway.

You could always have someone go in and retire him to AI, if you'd like to keep playing.

Let's end it. Retiring a player to AI is not an option, since it heavily imbalances the game. And I really don't think we can get a compatible sub at this point in time. It's a pity, since I think the game was gearing up to be pretty interesting.

I could run the show for a while to give you a chance to get this running. After Balseraphs all magic oriented civs will feel moot, but I could give a try. I've been lazy global lurker and can't remember e.g. reading any long term plans from DaveV's thread so I could be considered unspoiled enough. Up to you though.
