Ditto. Also, congrats to the pats. The next foreign city you conquer (optimism!) should be named manning, he's the patriots mvp for this week!

that I can get behind.

You may think I'm on the ropes, losing cities to 3 seperate enemies, but no, just as in the NFL

Pind razed Boyce (not sure why culture changed how it did for roads, but at this point not goign to go back and check)

He then offered peace for 1000gp, which I accepted. Frankly that was rather light. My hope is that signign peace with pind will intimidate one of Krovice or OH into accepting peace. Gotta break the dogpile.

My guess is the switch to nationhood + recapture of holy city is what concinced Pind to finally accept. I actually still have one of Pind's cities but as soon as the holy city gets out of revolt it will be totally culture crushed.

I'm going to refound Boyce next turn, which will in fact be the 2nd time I've refounded Boyce after Pind razed it rolf I guess he's been going back and forth from the practice squad?

Krovice used another great artist

You can see there that all those hills are about to switch owner, which will let Krovice hit me with cannons to take avendale. After that I suspect this is goign to stalemate, the power of collateral means moving into opposing territory is suicidal.

The cultural chaos caused by my wars of aggression and subsequent collapse:

You can really see how my empire is being split in two. I think Krovice and I stalemate basically along culture borders even with the bifurcated territory (they managed to take the cities they've gotten via great artist bombs, which is not continually repeatable). However, Finharry is the game changer. Once gren's start arriving I lose my huge unit quality advantage and more cities will start burning. that + krovice is going to be difficult.

I essentially abandoned Avendale now that it lost culture control left 2 CG3 rifles in there just to make Krovice bleed for it.

Upgraded 2 longbows and a warrior to rifles in Revis, reinforcing the thing is hard when there's a fleet of frigates wandering about. Forgot a shot of the actual fleet, I outnumber it but not by enough to overwhelm the coastal defense bump. A point against naval combat here I suppose.

Covered the capital, as per my "minimum acceptable commando defense" doctrine.

Going around with my sole Eastern frigate burning nets. I guess this is a small taste of what Finharry get to do. I feel so... powerful... invulnerable crazyeye

But they'll probably get the 2 frigates needed to kill me soon enough.

Maybe if I hold it long enough i'll be able to take the tiles back, but i'm not holding my breath.

Best demonstration of decline is the cratering CY

but the story of the recent conflicts most amusingly told by my power graph, up and down and up and down

You can see my failed culture bomb as well as Krovice's double bomb here

GNP graph looks oddly non-catastrophic, and I've been saving gold for a while too. I'd guess I'm around tier 2 in GNP at the moment, with BGN and Finharry meaningfully better than me but Krovice around my level.

Another cultural chaos shot b/c they're cool

Whats the plan going forward? You got peace from Pin, will that stem the bleeding? When is the reconquista?

I'm still stuck mostly just reacting to Krovice and Finharry. I'd love to retake the neck from Krovice, but even if that's theoretically possible in a 1 v 1 scenerio it certainly isn't while >50% of my army is stuck defending coastal cities.

The other problem is Finharry could (maybe already have?) loaded their galleons with (amphib, possibly) Grens, which will totally change the coastal defense calculation. Right now a rifle takes 2-3 (at worst) units to take down, with grens that drastically shifts in Finharry's favor. Which ties up Cavalry to defend my rifles, but cavalry are the exact units I need to retake the neck.

The whole front, while long, is surprisingly defensible from both sides since only 1 city is within first strike range (Willow, the former Whosit capital that krovice just took and artist bombed), and stacks of collateral make moving an army into enemy territory pretty suicidal without massive numerical advantage, which neither of us have.

Tech wise I'm saving gold b/c I need flexibility for possible upgrades, but I'd like to start teching again soon. To what, I'm still thinking. I'm likely to take a risky but possibly game changing tech plan though. Railroad perhaps? Machine guns would solve the collateral problem, and railroads would make everything way easier to defend. But I'm not committing to anything for a fair number of turns.
