[Spoiler] Desperados: The Black Sword & Agent

Yes, 2nd in turn order.
I moved some Axes out of Sabata, I didn't want to move all the Impis out because HRE has visibility on the city and can 1-turn blitz it with chariots from Vienna if he sees it's vulnerable.

I didn't do the Declare War/Immediately Peace for 10 turns on HRE because I'm paranoid that he's got an army in Vienna and he'll attack even from a phony war like last time. I'm probably stressing it too much.

Yeah, you have a good point about Vienna. I see you have the galley up there though, maybe he could peak in, if he doesn't see many chariots it would be safe to move one Impi out(and put some hammers into one to emergency whip just in case). Assuming we win, do you plan to keep the city? Be careful about protecting San Sebastien from a naval response too. Maybe keep a galley to block the southern path. Can pull the Impi from Ugly next turn too when it finishes it's axe.

Iron working next sounds good to me. Generally people need loans on a specific turn, so I doubt the Network will accept later, but there's no harm to offer.

I had some ideas about the happiness situation btw;

One point is to ask HRE for a loan of their spare Ivory. Certainly 5gpt would be a great deal for us, even if just for 10t while we get the Calendar resources online, though maybe you don't want to help HRE. It depends how much money they'd ask for. They're less likely to attack us too, if we're paying them money.

Another is to settler some of the filler cities to use the food sources while our developed cities have trouble doing so right now. In particular, I'm thinking of that spot just south of our capital that shares 3ish food resources, there's also a possible spot on the East coast to use Il Merc's fish.

I still think we need more workers and that's a good job for cities that are unhappy at the minute, since unhappy citizens don't cost food while building workers/settlers. Eg. Django is a good candidate, maybe Il Merc too, though that galley would be useful, Ugly after its axe build. Maybe send that spare worker by Bad up to the north east to help connect the Calendar resources too?

Also, I think markets are a better build than libraries in general at the minute with our low breakeven rate and tough happy cap.

Welp, gg! It's been fun, but all good things must come to an end.

I made the Gpt for Ivory offer to HRE. I also took a peak into Vienna..

Just over the mountains I can see another Axe with blue glow so he's started creating them in barracks cities.
Naturally I only thought to check Vienna after moving a couple axes out of Sabata. They need 2 turns to get back, so if he starts a war this turn he could raze the town again.

No attack from HRE, so the axes will have time to return.
As for rome, they whipped a spear-- invasion halted. However, they made a mistake evacuating their workers, and I was able to kill 2 with one Impi. I pillaged a road with the same Impi and have offered peace.

I thought we would still have had enough units to take the city even if they got a spear? Axe v Axe, Impi vs Spear, then any chariots/impis could probably beat the red-lined enemies.

The defending axe is C1 + Shock, +25% fort bonus.

peace declared anyway... Also HRE bartered to 10 gpt for Ivory.. amazing to see cities without huge frowny faces on them!
He's drawn down the garrison in Vienna. I suspect a mix of, he thought he had an opportunity against Sabata but it slipped, and he knows I can see into the city with my spy boat.

If you have a chance to log in, do you mind marking some of the filler sites you suggest I settle? I am thinking my next settler will go to the far west Silver colony. The little cleft of Network's land cut off by mountains is being settled by ipecac so that's gone.

Yeah, everything looks so pretty when it's not tinted red!

I marked the two filler spots, left a few other signs too. I think stone > silver spot btw.

When we do get stone, where do you want to put the Moai?

Also, have you thought about what you want to do with the GA coming soon? That should inform our tech choices.
