I have a mechanics question to seasoned pitboss players.
Does overflow beakers get properly added if you queue a tech? I'm considering teching aesthetics next and I'm wondering if I need to do it at a 0% slider or not. IIRC in SP you can tech something like fishing with 2k bpt and still get the beakers added towards the next tech if it's already selected. Does it work the same way in pitboss?
More concrete: Can I select aesthetics and shift-queue Astronomy and have the overflow go in there even if I gain ~2.5-3k bpt that turn (aesthetics only costs like 500).
Anybody who knows please let me know, because I don't remember how it works. The reason I worry about it not working is that some interactions are different, such as the not selecting a tech in the starting turns. In SP you can wait until T5, whereas in pitboss, IIRC, you need to select it immediately or the beakers get added somewhere.

Man i never que techs in pitbos. So yeah you can get aestetics, no techs behind and next turn whatever tech you chose will get all the beaker overflow.Man i am suprised you dont know.

Big noob here you know -- don't expect anything
Thanks for the fast reply. I was worried because I tested it in SP. I gave myself 100 great scientists, settled them and teched fishing without selecting an additional tech and the overflow beakers were lost! Then I did the same while queuing Divine Right (sample tech) and the beakers were properly added.
This surprised me a lot because I had always thought that the beakers properly carried over even without selecting anything, but it appears that's not the case if you exceeed a certain value, idk. I ended up confused anyway. Maybe I did my test wrong, but I don't think so.

Yeah, I've done it myself many times in SP with small techs like masonry in the early to mid game and I thought in PB too, but I got uncertain.
Anyway, it appears it is definitely as you say. I re-did my test and apparently I was smoking something before because it works the correct way both in vanilla BtS and the RtR mod now on my second try. Thanks for clearing up my doubts!
When are you playing again, BTW? Completely done with Civ4 PB?

Side by side comparison of T148 vs. T175 demographics.
*Food increase from 491 to 1133.
*Mfg. Goods increase from 483 to 1004.
*Land area increase from 222k to 553k.
More than doubled each category in the span of 27 turns!
OH is the only one who can barely keep up, but I'm not even close to hitting my ceiling. Most of Persia is still size 2 to 5. Meanwhile civs like England (TBW) have been standing completely still.
I'm looking forward to starting a golden age around assembly line. Think the best use for it is switching to universal suffrage and get 2-hammer towns to complete factories quickly. Most cottages should have matured by then. I'll try to manufacture my 4-person golden age during those 8 turns for the possibility of back to backs.

I can’t remember, are you in a golden age right now?

No golden age, that's my real output. I have the option to start a golden age whenever I want one -- three great people sitting in a tree...
Plan for world domination is space or OH conceding. With fully matured towns and 80 cities I will race through the late game tech tree, even with RtR costs. Unfortunately it's likely to go all the way because I remember from previous pitbosses that OH is very slow to concede and will fight the resolution. Rightly so I might add -- players can be too quick to give up. However, the size of this game is unprecedented and extremely time-consuming, so I hope we can agree to something in the future.
We're not at a point where anyone should want to concede to me or I feel completely secure of a win, but even if the situation changes and I get a bigger lead I expect OH will want to play on.
